I really loved every scene with pa kent speaking to young Clark.

That was the moment in the trailer that sold me on seeing the film when he says maybe Clark should have let them die.

And seeing young Clark with the red cape playing with that beautiful score :mjcry:

The only people I see hate on the film are the ones who's own ego won't allow them to watch a film be what it wants to be instead of what they want it to be.

And thats what every single critiscm of man of steel boils down. That my superman wouldn't do that :mjcry:

Go watch the donner flicks then. :camby:

I fukking loved the new characterization of supes. It's so much more interesting watching him struggle with who he is and in his place in the world then being an annoying boy scout straight from the 30's

I agree I really loved man of steel I don't get where all the critism is coming from you gotta think about how many things are weighing on this guy, he's mad conflicted, he knows hes not human, he wants to protect people but he doesn't want to be the target of their hate and he is kinda humble he doesn't want to be looked at like a god either even though he has godlike powers.

I'd be conflicted too. :yeshrug: the only thing I wish would happen in part 2 is take away that burden, that guilt on his shoulders,

They dealt with real shyt, Pa Kent was RIGHT. If the government found out about Clark they would've either tried to enslave or destroy him. Clark could've grown up evil as fukk if he had the world's armies chasing him down. They also would've imprisoned Ma/Pa Kent.

I love Superman I/II so if I'll want a cheerful movie I'll watch them. Man of Steel is that real shyt though.

A Superman who destroys drones and tells the government he'll do the right thing but he will not do what they want > a Superman who's on speeddial from the President and takes pats on the back

I still feel they're leading up to that.

They want to give him an arc instead of having straight away be that man. BVS he was still growing and struggling with his place trying to balance his life.

What they did made perfect sense of seeing the character with a modern lense.

He grew up with humans why the fukk wouldn't he have natural human doubts and feelings.

Mos was still full of him doing heroic superman shyt. They just gave him some weight dramatically which for me made it far more interesting.

Imagine finding out you're an alien and basically a god to humans :dead:

action was good, Zod was A1, beginning on Krypton was great, Crowe was good, passive aggressive emo superman was laughably bad, when its the shining star of the DCEU, you have a problem

how do nobody hear that damn truck get speared :mindblown:

Bottom of the barrel whining right here.

So was BvS, I've seen dudes on here say all Supes did was mope and get his ass beat when there was an ENTIRE MONTAGE of him going around the world saving folk.

When he saves that Mexican from the burning building he has a smile on his face when he approaches the fam. Then they treat him like a GAWD and his face turns serious, THAT'S the screencap dudes use to show he's too serious :stopitslime:

And zod :banderas:

Zod is still the best villain in the mcu or DCEU.

Michael Shannon fukking nailed that role.

The best villains are the ones that feel their side is the righteous one, instead of being ham fisted straight evil cartoon shyt.

And when supes breaks his neck I was like :krs::krs: "that's not the Superman I know!" In EXCITEMENT because this was something different. Others of course reacted like :sadbron: "that's not the superman I know!"

I love new characterizations and different takes on characters.

The entire comic book industry is based off writers putting their own stamps on characters so that's what makes no sense about the complaints to me.

Of course I have my own preferences like anybody else but I don't hold.it so close to my chest that I won't accept anything else.

For example I never really jived with Sam raimi's spider man. It was IMO a poor characterization of peter post high school. But I still LOVE spider man 2. It might not be "my spider" but the movie was still great. Sam put his own stamp on the character :yeshrug:

And WHEN supes grows up,becomes that boy scout that in the end he is it will have been EARNED.

It will be earned because we've watched him grow, watched him struggle, watched him "break the rules" of what supes is supposed to be.

Instead of being an all perfect supes right away, even though he was raised by humans and would undoubtedly be a human emotionally so that would make little sense,we will have seen him become that. It will be earned and endure him to us because we've seen him grow to be that. It makes him relatable.

That's good writing and the way to reconnect a character to a public that lost interest in him long ago. I don't give a fukk what some pretentious euro faq who still watches wrestling in 2016 thinks.

And Henry cavill has portrayed all this with minimal dialogue. He's a great supes fukk the haters.
