He has a nice skill package but even among Chinese players it was kind of glaring how slow he seemed. He made plays though. Mix some flopping in and some experience and he can make some plays.

This is exactly what I was thinking.
If Melo had gone to Europe and did there what Luka did at his age against THAT competition, BBB stans would be calling him the next Magic.
Instead, Melo was like 12 leagues below Luka and looked ten times worse even against that comp. They were just hyping up his average performance against a Denmark team that wouldn't be able to stay on the court in the CBA.
Hell, I can't think of a single thing that Melo does better than Luka....Luka is basically Melo with bball IQ, refined skills, defensive effort, and discipline.
I can't tell if that makes me think somewhat more highly of Melo's chances or somewhat worse of Luka's.
