I don’t understand the hate towards the “Monster of the Week” formula. Episodic storytelling is a good thing. Telling smaller-scale stories while building towards the climax keeps the show fresh from week-to-week so that the plot isn’t just spinning its wheels the entire time until it’s time for the finale.

This is some all time bad CGI in this series.
HBO had to give them a prove and see budget.

It was goofy cause it looked goofy af and try hard.
That's just it... I've heard this from a couple of folks... and it aint yall's fault.... you can't do a show like this without that element... and it's a factual element of how we persevered through those times.... but somehow, we've been conditioned to be turned off by that element..... it aint our fault.... we just programmed bad..... I love the fact that this show has real black vibe to it..... no real concessions....

I thought Tic might have had something back in Korea due to the phone call from ep 1, but he couldn't resist Letti for long

He started saying something about how in Korea they would use heat and loud noises, but he never actually finished saying what they used it for.
I suspect the army was torturing the Korean girl that he had an affair with, and that's why he imagined her trying to kill him.
So this is basically the X-Files...just centered around black folk
Monster of the week...but central theme with "sons of adam"
Kinda like how xfiles had alien conspiracy
I was sort of reminded of a USA show like "Burn Notice" or "White Collar". 90% of the episode was MoTW, then you get a little hint at the end of how it's tied into a larger story.
