That's crazy they got air bnb cross the canal. If you're looking for somewhere close Gene's poboys on st Claude and Elysian fields get either the hot sausage or Roast beef. For shrimp poboys I would say castnets on Haynes Blvd in the east(they're closed on Mondays) or imo the best shrimp poboys in the city Dookie Chaseon Orleans and Miro in the 6th ward (historical and Black owned) they serve Gumbo too and they're probably the only spot I'd recommend somebody Gumbo. Now other spots I'd recommend Willie Mae's scotch house right around the corner from Dookies on Saint Ann and Tonti get the red beans and rice with fried chicken it's like 8 dollars but good af it doesn't look nice like dookie chase in there but it's a cool lil lunch joint and hopefully you get to see the owner Kima fine ass
. Another spot is Neyows(black owned) food is good atmosphere is cool its one of the poppin restaurants so there's gonna be women in that thang potna
that strong ass rum punch they serve gon put you on your ass
If you trying to hit the quarter Johnny's poboys on St Louis soon as you turn off Decatur good shrimp or hot sausage sandwiches try muffaletta tho
I go there for breakfast sometimes too
Back to Gumbo breh I mentioned dookie chase because that's the only spot I trust. I myself have never eaten Gumbo from a restaurant in my life. It's like this I'm my family when somebody cooks Gumbo they call family and friends to come get a bowl.
