As far as Martha,they were setting up the Martha scene literally the entire film.


The whole thing revolves around that scene.

Its funny when people do explain the scene more in depth they just brush it off and go herp derp Martha and dismiss the entire point of the scene as just being about their mothers having the same name and nothing else.

Which is what I was thinking when the Thor cover came out with EW. No diss to Thor because I'm actually looking forward to it but that comes out in November. Spider man comes out in July and we've only gotten a trailer. But I need a fix. I need some press coverage dammit. Have they even released an official synopsis for it?

A movie played completely straight and serious tonally suddenly morphing into a screwball comedy with cheesey one liners and play fighting for 10 minutes then going right back to being serious makes absolutely no sense.

The hell are you talking about? Civil War was not played "Completely straight and serious" before the airport fight. The entire fight in Lagos has the team cracking jokes before and during the mission. There's comedy throughout the film and none of it actually breaks the overall tone.

You mean the scene that happens before the events of the film that spurs the plot?

That scene is them on a mission being themselves,then it goes horribly wrong and the rest of the film is dour and serious. It follows an arc.



Then suddenly,they all forget that for a few minutes for a goofy fight scene.then go right back to being serious.

The airport scene is supposed to have weight thematically in the film where its placed. Instead it changes the tone and is played for laughs.

The airport scene flies in the face of the rest of the film.

The 2 times I've watched it totally took me out of the film.

Just imagine logan having a fight scene like that right in the middle

You can tell that scene was created before they even had a script and wrote around it.

It's a perfectly great scene that belongs in a different movie.

As much as I loved Civil War, I completely agree with y'all. There are times watching it where you forget it's a Cap sequel. It felt more like The Avengers 3 if anything.

Just got home from the cinema.

I remember watching the shytty pre-FX bootleg of Origins that got dude hemmed up by the FBI, and being so disappointed. Then seeing it in the cinema and being even more disappointed.

They've come a long fukking way.

Jackman was damn near flawless. My only complaint was the Logan clone. If they'd bought Liev Schreiber back as a cloned/ mindwiped Sabretooth. it would have been some really dope closure.Could have had him first show up on the farm wearing a parka jacket, then he pulls the hood down to show his face. With the close-up it would have looked like his outfit in the comics with the hood's fur.

The X-Force kids - I have no idea when the movie is going to be set, but I hope they bring the characters back for it.

Seeing Charles so old was . They put the 'Old Man Logan' atrocity on his dementia as well

The first time Laura calls him 'Daddy' I was , When she put the cross on it's side, it was a wrap


Between this and Deadpool, looks like Fox has found their lane

Need that R-Rated Batman next.

No need to remind us of xmen origins during such a great movie

Im with you though,i was upset by the fact we wasnt getting one final Wolverine/Sabertooth showdown....and i also said the trailers didnt have me excited because it didnt look much like a comic book film.

But this shyt turned out to be raw as shyt

Hugh Jackman need to go ahead and come back,honestly its still up in the air,he could easily come out of that shallow grave....we could still get that wolverine sabertooth showdown,if they clone sabertooth and have them hunting x23.

But for now im going to just enjoy this movie,only thing i wish we wouldve got to see was Charles killing the xmen,unfortunatley he was interrupted before we got to have a flashback.....probaly wouldve made for some cool looking visuals i imagine.

That slow mo scene with logan going thrunthe hotel was well done and classic.


And at the end when you heard that growl come from the woods,and knew it was about to go down
