Yeah a host on a podcast I listen to said the same thing. He said its a good movie but that scene just sticks out because it becomes a different movie entirely until the very end of the scene and then it's followed by a much better fight scene to end the movie which is the tone he felt the airport scene should've had. I'd say the main difference tho is spider man and ant man. They don't have the same baggage everyone else has so the scene wouldn't have that weight with them in it.
The 2 times I've watched it totally took me out of the film.

Just imagine logan having a fight scene like that right in the middle :dwillhuh:

You can tell that scene was created before they even had a script and wrote around it.

It's a perfectly great scene that belongs in a different movie.

Yeah I'll be honest spider man being in it clouds my judgement a bit so I'm not the best person to speak on it lol

Movie was excellent...

Sad to see Hugh Jackman's Wolverine go out like that but honestly you couldn't have asked for a better send off...
That little girl was straight viscous...When she was doing those flips kicking and stabbing holes in peoples faces legit had me...:damn:

Did Xavier kill all the X-men though? I am assuming that's what they were referring to when mentioning the Westchester incident...

Yeah, it was revealed fully when it was talked about on the radio, and Xavier admitted it right before X-24 killed him

I just cant get over the airport scene in civil war and not in a good way, that knocks it out of any of those kind of talks

I'm sorry but having a huge fight scene that is the polar opposite tone of the rest of the entire movie is downright bizzare.

It doesn't fit at all.

Absolutely.

People give "Martha" shyt but to me "Underoos" was way worse - it undermines the scene and it reinforces how illogical the shoehorning of Spiderman into this movie was. c00ny Stark gets upset because a kid died in one of their fights, he wants to arrest a terrorist who's superpowerful and he believes to be a mindless murderer....so he blackmails another kid into fighting a group of super-powered people that includes, as far as c00ny believes, a murderer.

Logan is absolutely better than any MCU movie not named Winter Soldier.

Guardians comes close but the danceoff and holding hands kumbaya fight kills it.

Finally saw Logan earlier and it's a VERY good film. Hands down the best Wolverine film and the best Fox superhero movie. I actually like the story told here MUCH more than that bullshyt ass comic book that people are always fawning over.

The fight scenes are actually dope and they dialed back on the wire-fu for Logan. The story really isn't anything we haven't seen before, but it's HOW the story is told that makes it good, this movie doesn't work unless it has actors the caliber Jackman and Stewart.

With all that said I think people are overrating this movie a good bit. I've always been one to let a film marinate a before I start saying it's a top ten comic book movie and I definitely don't see any of the performances getting an Oscar nomination or anything (even though Jackman and Stewart do their best work in the history of the franchise in this movie).

Absolutely.

This is my one real complaint about Civil War. People just give that shyt a pass because they were excited to see Spider-Man. You could have cut Spidey from that film and NOTHING about the movie would have changed. They shoehorned that fukker into the movie and probably cut a bunch of Black Panther scenes to do so. And like you pointed out it doesn't make narrative sense given Tony's motivation that was established earlier in the film.

I agree with everything you both said about Spidey. That said, I don't care lol

:pachaha: so now that CW airport scene is being compared to Martha. I can't take this subforum seriously when it comes to films.:pachaha: If we're being honest at least compare it to those comicbook movie teasers Batman IM'd WW. Yea it served little narrative purpose and was purely for fanboys.... the only difference being of course we left that airport scene:gladbron::blessed::salute: :feedme:

And that's how i feel. from a narrative standpoint he's completely superfluous and contradicts Tony's initial angst in the movie. BUUUUUUUUT i love spider man so I go with it lol

The airport scene as a whole makes total sense and it actually does fit the narrative to the story. The reasoning for the airport fight makes sense and was explained before hand. We also see them at least try to talk things out before the fight. It's really just the inclusion of Spider-Man that doesn't make any sense. He was great when he showed up, but he logically had no business being there. When the movie came out people were actually saying Spider-man's inclusion made sense and that it served the story, and that's just straight up bullshyt.

This film won't leave my thoughts.

I teared up at work today thinking about one of the ending scenes :mjcry:
Mine either.

I don't know if I could subject myself to it in theaters again though :mjcry:

I'll just wait for the 4k blu-ray.

I did cop a Wolverine shirt though :obama:

A movie played completely straight and serious tonally suddenly morphing into a screwball comedy with cheesey one liners and play fighting for 10 minutes then going right back to being serious makes absolutely no sense.

No it doesn't make sense. Sorry.

Let's not forget cap dropping a fukking trailer on spideys head without knowing anything about him or his strength.

He basically tried to murder a kid.

But hey. Long as you add some one liners you can't judge a film too harshly or point out stupid shyt.
