Sounds good breh, you def know what you're doing and you're doing it the right way.
I def wanna hear updates when you get more hardware for it. :salute:

Will do.
I have a decent system for getting low (and used) grade hardware for cheap.

Putting together a system to acquire funding for purchasing low (and used) grade hardware for cheap.

This is all for my home network. Works great. My Plex/iTunes media server is rock solid. Works with all my devices, Rokus, AppleTVs, and smart televisions too.

Upgrading the network infrastructure to support PoE.

Shiiiit i'd do a lot for double my current paycheck:wow:
And thats the thing bro.. first i felt like total absolute win when I got here, And for twice my last cheque (where I had to work as the only tech AND in customer service) I was ready to do triple backflips for this bread. But when u realize that your boss that aint never around, dont really do shyt and just be tryna dip out.. its kinda... :lupe: If you think about your career that is. I have had to self teach myself soooo much shyt here. And he literally gives no fukks. I have never worked with anyone this nonchalant about everything, its like working with someone that dont really wanna be here but keep they name in the system so they collect the cheque. shyts :mindblown: breh..

Yeah if I felt that stagnant I can see what you mean. And you don't want to be self-taught everything because there's alot of drawbacks with that.
And its also hard to have to motivate yourself everyday when you know you could just collect a paycheck and go home.

But double pay tho....? :wow:

I'm a Systems Engineer so basically everything Infrastructure and DevOps related.

I'm working for an MSP right now so there are times when a client just needs something like Azure backups for their netapps
Other times a client needs an entire SCCM environment built from scratch, or they need to transition from a flat network to a hierarchical network (i'm a former network engineer).

My current client is the latter, they need everything. But they pretty much love me so whatever I suggest, request, want, I say jump they say "how high"

I'll be sad when this project ends tbh.

Working for an MSP is very variable, but you become well versed at everything.:ehh:
What's the difference between a Systems Enigineer & a SysAdmin?

SysAdmin is the level right below SysEng.

System Admins =You basically are in charge of management of the Infrastructure.
-You have Domain Admin rights
-You create service accounts
-Its usually your job to report on System Health and Uptime
-You are responsible as a Go-between from Software/Application Dev and the System Engineers
-You fix any issue that escalates beyond Technical support
-Patching and Updates are usually on you
-You may be asked to contact Vendors and built a rapport

The System Engineer is the guy who builds it
-You have Domain Enterprise rights
-You build the entire Infrastructure
-You design the colo
-You design the Network topology
-You build the AD Schema
-You spinup VMs and hosts
-You create a DR plan
-You wire everything
-You meet with Vendors and discuss purchasing plans
-You do everything a SysAdmin does as well

A system engineer is basically the top. You have to really know your shyt to be considered an Engineer because you are the knowledge base for everything infrastructure related. The only thing above it is a System Architect, but that's a role reserved for a larger company that has multiple Engineering teams
