Most of the money made off movies comes from domestic box office because overseas you see a smaller share of the profits. Domestic numbers still matter the most.



But I wouldn't expect you to understand how that works. And WW is still raking and hasn't even opened in some Asian countries.

Sure, I'll tell you. In the U.S. you keep roughly 50% of the box office made. Overseas it varies country to country but the average is about 33% and china can be less than that. If a movie makes $100M in China it might only bring in $25M to the studio.

The reason Fast and Furious is brought up is because it's not just making good money overseas, it's making over a billion. Fast and Furious 8 made $1.25 billion this year in total which is going to be about $400M more than Spider-Man and even Wonder Woman so even if it only is bringing in a lesser percentage it's still insanely profitable.

Waiting till I catch this trailer in cinemas, there seems to be a trend of CGI being off in trailers compared to the actual flick.

Same shyt happened with Wonder Woman/Spidey/Guardians this year.
