You might be right too. I gotta watch it again to see if the park had gates around the water, but I dont remember seeing it. I guess you can't make everything realistic. Especially when they are using helicopter to get around the island while people seem to be getting places in a flash on foot. I ain't complaining though. It is what it is.

Also, I wanted to punch the older brother for being so unimpressed by the park (prolly cause his rich ass has been there a bunch of times already), while everyone else was watching in awe. Dumb kid was on his cell phone through most of the beginning. I was waiting for him to get eaten. And there was a scene where they were at an attraction and the older brother says "Wanna see something cool" or something like that, then the scene changes and when we return to them they are on the monorail
talking about their parents divorcing
. Did they delete a scene? What was he gonna show him that was so cool? I hope they have an extended cut. I really wanted to see more of the park and even learn more about the villan guy and Dr. Wu's plan with the raptors. I guess they'll make the next movie about that stuff though.
The kid just said "wanna see something else cool?" to his brother meaning he finally woke up and was down to enjoy the park and have a good time. Nice bit of foreshadowing as it was the Mosasaur that did it and "saved" their vacation trip...just as it would save the day more literally later on :smugbiden:

Yeah I kinda think the second and third movies don't exist in this universe. I know the director talked about not really thinking about them when they were writing the movie
There were a couple nods. Largest one being the Spineosaurus skeleton obviously - which the T-Rex immediately smashes to bits as a bit of a 'fukk you' to that battle in pt. 3. :heh:

Also at one point the IR makes use of its biggest advantage and puts hands on the T-Rex's head just as the Spinosaurus did to snap its neck, and the music plays some ominous tone to make you like :lupe: "oh no ive seen this before :mjcry:." So thats a bit of a subtle callback, right before Blue makes the Ultimate Warrior run-in save

The modernmythmedia podcast got me wanting to see it again. Seems like us nerds around 30 LOVED it. Older snobby critics hated it.
fukk them old fogies. Only dinosaurs we give props to is Raps and Rex :smugkid:

I think he meant the very end, you know, the kids meeting up with the parents, the whole divorce shyt ignored, Pratt making out with Dallas Howard, black guy still hiding inside a tree in the jungle, etc.
Black breh was shown at the recovery area at the end, he made it out.

The divorce angle was just a bit of backstory mostly used as a plot device to drive the kids' actions. Its why the older brother decided to go off road in the pod, etc. It was simple, realistic and there's nothing they couldve thrown in at the end that wouldnt have felt cheap. :yeshrug:
Oh yeah the second movie is more like a remake to the 1925 stop motion animated movie "The Lost World" which inspired the cinema dino craze that eventually happened in king kong

I thought that asian was the wannabe yakuza from tokyo drift and i was right
The old 20's Lost World is referenced in the beginning w the pics in the kid's Viewfinder
Does :flabbynsick: T-Rex gets an asterisk for that W because he played with 3 All-Stars :mjpls:?
T-Rex is Steph Curry....Mosasaur is Iguodala :mjpls:
Out of everything that has dropped so far (and grant it, its only June) it was the perfect summer flick. It hits all quadrants, it's a roller coaster, it has a summer feel, it's got spectacle, and it's fun. And of course they promoted the hell out of it
And ironically takes place during Xmas lol

The year 3030
I just wanna know how the hell the jeep still had gas and they found a functional battery...all that shyt is 20 plus years old :troll:

Dope film though.

Could've done without the kids, they were pointless for the most part.

It was cool seeing Dr Wu become a more major character.

Nah breh Mad Max was cool but it wasn't on some all time great shyt. Maybe it's because I wasn't a huge fan of the Mel Gibson originals but I honestly could've done without seeing it a second time and the only reason I did was because San Andreas was sold out:yeshrug:

But Jurassic World was my shyt. Such a pleasantly surprising film and a real breath of fresh air for the franchise that I honestly thought was dead after JP3. I'm really hype seeing it again it's one of those few movies that makes me feel like I'm a kid again.:blessed:

After this its on to Star Wars Episode 7. Which I KNOW I'm going to see at least 3-4 times

Aye breh I'm not saying you can't like what you like, no need to explain to me :handshake: I'm just saying I think Mad Max is on some all time great shyt. Jurassic World is definitely a great summer movie but I think Mad Max is a great movie period, whether winter, spring, summer or fall
