I thought we were debating if this movie was a blockbuster or not. I never tried to argue that Chris carried the film. Dude said he only had 2 huge films and I said no. Zero Dark is a huge film and he was in it. That movies success only helped him get the roles he got since then. If you deny that then I guess ur lost.

I'm saying that I wouldn't chalk that up to him. Being in a huge movie doesn't mean you're the reason they were a draw. I agree he's a star but I also think he needs to have more to it before he's christened the next one. I don't see Chris Pratt as the reason people went to see zero dark thirty was my point. Chastain was the main one in all of the marketing, along with bigelow and the story itself which people wanted to see. Even he's admitted that James gunn didn't want him for guardians and had to be convinced so I believe guardians is the reason he's getting what he's getting. And he's the reason he's the biggest part of the Jurassic world marketing but I'd also argue it's a franchise that doesn't need a "star" cause let's be real: the dinosaurs are the stars dammit

I even said there's a reason he's the main marketing piece for Jurassic World. I simply started the debate on the fact that he wasn't the star or main attraction for Zero Dark Thirty and that I do want to see what he does outside of established franchises. Like if it was him in Tomorrowland vs Clooney, would it have done better? that's what I'm curious about. I love dude tho. Or did you go because they were going to show you freaking dinosaurs on the big screen?

One of my close friends is all worked up about this movie, keeps harassing me to see it with him, but I have no interest....I saw the first one on VHS in like 95, and I liked it a lot, as a 10 year old. But, it didn't hold the kind of awe and fascination it did for many....A few of my friends have mentioned it was the first movie they saw in theaters, and one of their favorite childhood memories....

I will also say I saw the third one in summer 2000, I remember I saw some Discovery Channel special the night before, staying at my friends house, and I was all sold on the movie. Saw that shyt the next day, and it was terrible, though I liked the opening sequence. I think Spielberg truly created magic on the first one, and like many before, everything after is a hollow attempt to cash in, with directors/writers and producers who don't have the imagination or talent Spielberg did when he made 'Jurassic Park'.

All I'm saying is Harrison Ford did Star Wars and Indy before we knew him in The Fugitive and What Lies Beneath. Ya'll need to chill and let Pratt do his thing before you jump the gun and say he's Sam Worth... status and 100 other actors have done what he's done. Thats just not the case. His rise to stardom is unmatched at this point. He is a selling point. Lego movie and GOTG have kids recognizing him off the bat and asking mommy to go see his new movie. You know the dinosaur movie that mommy loves but the kids never heard of cause that was not their generation. Yea that movie. The one with Star Lord in it.

Maybe cause you didnt watch Parks and Rec. Truth is a lot of people did know he was in it and saw it as a step towards stardom which it was. Ya'll just didn't know who he was until GOTG which is fair. But that doesnt mean he didnt have a fan base already and now a new generation of kids fans.

You only found out about Pratt the gawd from GOTG. He was killing it on Parks and Rec for years and already had a fan base. Just cause you just found out about dude doesnt take away from his long resume. IMDB is your friend. Use it.
