Nahh he's not on Nights level yet cause Night had 2 bangers : 6th sense, and Split. He's currently a 1 hit wonder for now.

US was ass juice and Twilight looking weak so far. He should be good as long as he get a few more in the next few years.
Signs was great, I don't care what anybody says :mjcry:

6th Sense, Unbreakable, Signs, all 3 were consecutive hits. If Peele can drop a 3rd hit he will be up there. Split came out what, 15 years after Signs. That's a long slump.

Replay is a dope episode. Would’ve been very very dope if not for being a bit too on the nose in the second to last scene. Sanaa’s character gives a speech that’s not needed because it’s already been said through the acting and story. Also, she’s a damn good actress who really needs better material than she gets.

And the actual ending of it was, unfortunately, too relatable

Repay was cool, but once again, too long. It's also not ambiguous enough. One of those other revivals had hour-long eps too, but they ended up cutting it own to 30 min eps for next season.

Yup. 44 min is better than a full on 55 but the stories would be stronger and more potent if they were just a half hour. Just because the original series started making hour long episodes doesn’t mean you need to follow that pattern

He might. Or he could fall off hard. We've seen it happen plenty of times. I wont make any predictions.

One questions tho, is he planning to stick with horror?
He has a few years. Hopefully he try different things. His next movie will determine if he legit or not IMO. If the next one is lackluster like US, he might flame out.

Well regardless of you think of "US" it's a box office smash and critically acclaimed. Maybe that's just because people are too invested in the hype. Which is way too common these days.

On the latest episode, “Replay”:

It doesn’t really bother me that “Replay” was heavy-handed. The original Twilight Zone was many things, but subtle was never one of them. Rod Serling and co. always made sure you got the point of what they were trying to say, even if they had to beat you over the head with it. It’s just one of the things you learn to accept when you watch TZ. I think subtlety is overrated a lot of the time, anyway.

I really loved the message that, no matter how many things Nina and Dorian do “right” every time Nina rewinds time, Dorian always gets attacked by the cop. It’s the kind of thing I always have to argue with people when the topic is brought up (even other black people! :snoop:). It really doesn’t matter what you do, how you talk, etc. Racist cops will always find a reason to kill because they just don’t like black people. Trying to play respectability politics is just playing a rigged game that you’ll never win.

It’s still too damn long of an episode, but at least at 44 minutes it’s not as bad as the other two were.

Especially since even the original series realized that mistake, and went right back to a half-hour format a season later.

Yup. And to your initial point about not minding it being heavy handed, I’m with you. Rod Serling was never subtle about shyt. I know that may not work for everyone but twilight zone is always a blunt instrument. And this was a blunt episode and needed to be.

No matter what you do, you can’t escape racism. And in the end when she loses the ability to turn back time, the look on her face as her son and granddaughter head into the street with the sirens in the background is eerie as hell. And like I said, unfortunately very real and relatable

The year 3030
:pacspit: that racist fat fukk piece of shyt pig.

an unusual camera/this type of story has always been one of my favorites, so this 2019 take on it is a nice look.

so...are episodes going to vary on length? Would've thought this would be around 30min...like nightmare.

If they would have made this the premiere ep over the comedian, i wouldn't have minded
