Maybe I don’t know what an incel is. I thought it was disgruntled cac males mad they couldn’t get p*ssy. If incels are about redistribution of wealth and power then probably 4/5 blacks are incels; including me.
It is.

The meaning of the word changed to hype up how scary the movie is.

He wasn't killing because he couldn't get p*ssy and blamed the world for it. He killed 3 guys before he even realized his relationship with the girl was fake.

to answer your spoiler question OP...

I suspect they had an affair...she was a knockout back in the day based on that pic joker found of her and there was the little note on the back that suggested a little something extra happened...but I don’t think he knocked her up and I definitely believed he called it quits once he realized she was mentally unstable

This makes sense, thinking back to the movie and the scene where he meets Bruce I don't think Alfred would get involved in fukkery.

I don't care what he said, tbh. In the text of the film, it stuck MANY viewers that he did. That's all that matters.

Yeah okay... that's why in the discussion thread most people either said they have no idea or he probably didn't because all other murders were shown

:unimpressed:

Even at the end when he kills his case worker we see his footprints are bloody. There's some evidence he did it.

No Whammies!!
Solid 9/10 stars from me. Excellent movie. I don't know where the whole "for the incels" thing comes from. This movie is in the same vein as Fight Club. The theme is pretty clearly stated. Rich vs. the poor. The people who NEED to be scared are rich white cacs :sas2:

This is one of the greatest origin stories I've seen put on film. I didn't even see it coming until they mentioned Thomas Wayne on TV. I was expecting a much more abstract Joker.

One thing I'm still going back and forth on, maybe I'm trying to read too much into it but:
Was Thomas Wayne really Joker's father? Was his mother set up by Thomas to hide the fact that he had an illegitimate child? I was 50/50 the whole way then I saw the picture he found of his mother with the "I love your smile" note from Thomas (and the fact that she was beautiful when she was young), that made me feel like Thomas really was his father and had her committed to hide the fact. Plus, makes no sense that a single mom would adopt a kid.

Either way, the fact that it was ambiguous was an excellent setup for his origin story.

The way I see it
He was THIS Joker's father, but the Joker we see in this movie isn't the same one that fought grown-up Batman. More like he created the "Joker" character, then got committed, then 2 decades later someone else took the Joker's identity.

The problem with Arthur being the familiar version of Joker is that everyone in the world already knows his identity. He was called up under his real name to go on TV, then told them to introduce him as "Joker" in front of a live audience.
