Man, that movie was intense. I need more time to let it linger.
My girl was majorly disturbed by it and shook to her core haha. And she ain't usually the sensitive type so that's how I know this movie was dark AF.

I know some jokers irl that shyt was crazy. I liked the film not even like a typical comic movie. I judged it as a film, that being said that interracial relationship was not believable at all. I liked it better than IT 2 and it wasn’t that long. The lead up to the end was great. Overall it’s a strong 8

I knew dude was going to shoot the host (seems like they were trying to pump fake people into thinking he was going to shoot himself) yet when he shot dude square in the eyes I was still like

I don’t know if it was the theatre I was in or the premise of the movie or how he played it....but with all the violence we watch in TV shows and movies nowadays, you might not even blink at it..........This movie has 4 murders and 3 of them made the entire audience gasp and become uneasy.I knew dude was going to shoot the host (seems like they were trying to pump fake people into thinking he was going to shoot himself) yet when he shot dude square in the eyes I was still like

Just got through watching it about an hour ago...
That shyt was depressing as fukk to watch. Had at least 4 "WTF
" moments in it.... moments that were literally wild af. Thats exactly how I would imagine a real life Joker. Despite it technically being a "Batman" movie, and they left a lot of elements of it in there, this shyt was a little TOO real.... It was low-key a dangerous movie to make.
It was good af tho... just a mindfukk.
It was funny in a way too. For some reason, all these lil loud a$$hole kids were in the theater at like 10pm on a school night... laughing when Pheonix was doing his crazy ass laugh, (especially the beginning scene at the hospital) and all that... until he started killing people BRUTALLY.... then they stfu quick and realized they was watching some wild shyt go down.

He's definitely getting an Oscar for this. this dude did some Heath Ledger type shyt but it's a lil bit more. This is him going from mentally ill but a genuinely nice dude into a fukking psychopath in 2 hours.... and the way it's portrayed it's like it could actually happen in this day and time.Dope film, give Phoenix his Oscar now
Heath took on the Joker while he was already knee deep in being fukking insane which is why he actually went insane.
True, two Jokers at different point's in time, it's why I don't see the point in comparing the two actors.

I agree, I think they both did their thing but it was just different stories and different periods of The Joker. Both were dark, but this one made you sympathize with him for a short period and kinda shows how the Joker went insane.
for me, speaking as someone who grew up on the batman animated series as a kid, joker was always kind of corny and was never my favorite villain. jack nicholson did a great job portraying classic joker.
what heath did was reimagine the joker in his own way, his performance made me a fan of a character i never cared for. it also made people take notice, heath was a pioneer. before him comic book movies were never taken seriously. instead of playing some over the top villain, he mixed in enough grit and realism for critics to take his performance seriousley.
not to say Joaqim cant be a better joker but he didn't get enough time to do so, i was never a batman comic book person, so maybe a fan of the comics sees it different

but he won an oscar for that role so clearly a lot of people felt the same

He win that oscar and his entire performance, andddd how that movie is looked at, is all a result of his untimely death.
That's it.
His portrayal as joker was cool... it definitely got reimagined and taken in a different direction. A direction that alot of us knew it could go.
My problem is, when I place his performance amongst other supposed dark and disturbing character portrayals of all time, he doesnt stand out.
I dnt know why I think about Daniel Day Lewis's "Bill the butcher" character in Gangs of NY... or Bardem's role as "Chigurh" in No Country For Old Men...
But these are 2 performances that I judge heaths performance by...
His is not on the same level as theirs...
And I would love to hear actual movie critics discuss this, since they always talk about heaths role being so unbelievably great.
Yea... that was something that crossed my mind as well...
It's not like we've never seen ppl get killed in a movie b4.
And a couple of the murders we actually anticipated to see happen...
But still it felt intense and very stressful in the theatre

Killed 3 on the train, Killed his own mother, killed the chick he was stalking and her daughter ALLEGEDLY, then blasted dude on TV. On top. of that he got those cops stomped tf out and sent into ICU and he got another dude shot by one of the cops
