shyt was trash and classic at the same time.
The main plot conceit was corny as fukk (his dead wife's dog?) but complaining about the plot in an action movie would be like complaining about why the house wife answered the door naked when she called a plumber in a porno.
It's been said several times but they need a prequel/sequel because the "world" of the movie was cool. Some interesting ideas that could be fleshed out into cool shyt.
If I had one complaint it would be....Theon Greyjoy as a credible threat? Seriously?
Also, was that the Dos Equis man?

I disagree with the people saying he shot all those people "over a dog and a car". It was subtle, but they showed there was a LOT more to it deep down....
As for the sequel, Keanu said he wants to do one....to him it would be interesting to see how he became what he became etc...so I sense prequel....Keanu is aging well so I think he can pull it off if they don't wait too long.
When Wick burns up the Russian's stash...it wasn't just his money, it was his LEVERAGE...blackmail...the material he used to control everyone and make him the Alpha....it was EVERYTHING.....remember Wick's impossible job...the Russian said it made all of this possible....his power. Wick knew about all the info stashed, but not WHERE it was.....during the scene where they have Wick tied up and are about to knock him off, he mentions it and Wick said....I rather enjoyed that...or something to that effect. Meaning he was taking away what was built by his own deeds...which were done for an entirely different reason...to get out for his wife....that was the Russian's punishment for letting his son run amok and killing whatever professionalism there was in such a game. In fact, it was sort of Wick's bizarre duty to punish the Russian for not reigning in his son....leading to the act.
The car obviously was important to him...they didn't say it...but I read into it it was probably for him something that tied him to who he was before he became John Wick. I had a Mustang when I was young, and I still think about that thing as a link to the past......cars are important to a lot of guys in that way....even if it is a piece of junk. The Car was as much a symbol as the dog was. Those were the fuses that set off something that was already there. And, this is a lot more fill in your own idea....but that little Russian twerp was a symbol of the unprofessionalism....the older Russian was letting his son ruin whatever "honor" there was ....even to the point of breaking the Hotel rules....but even at the end...Wick was going to legit let the older Russian live after destroying his life.....the son was a symbol of the whole thing going off the rails...but then he killed the Dafoe character.
Not saying it was perfect or anything, but they gave a lot of room for it to be about more than the dog/wife. I liked the fact they left breadcrumbs, but kind of let you read between the lines and feel the atmosphere...didn't feel the need to explain everything to the T and have those long conversations people don't really have. You could kind of fill it in yourself.

For anyone saying it was stupid because it was over a dog..either you didn't watch the movie or you've never lost anyone close to you. He said exactly what the dog represented and for someone already in a bad emotional state, something like that has the chance to send you over the edge which is exactly what happened. And no, the equalizer is not better.
Equalizer was definitely better, thats why more people went to see it.
John Wick comes off goofy in comparison, I just lost all interest halfway through. The fight scenes werent impressive and oh my fukking god the dialogue was horrible.
But enjoy what you want, neither movie was anything special but Equalizer was definitely superior in every single way

Agree to disagree breh, I just don't see it. And box office doesn't equate to quality. More people went to see Transformers than both of these movies combined, so is that better?
it wasn't a stupid premise. obviously i couldn't kill that many people, but i would kill over a car and someone/thing dear to me. give me his skills and i would go to war.
