I thought she was relatively a new actress and this was like her first project?

no i just looked up several of her interviews after reading your post. Was curious to see what it would sound like, but she never spoke in any of them.
also i didn't make some grand declaration about her, i just said "it seems to me like she doesn't speak much." "she might be one of those deaf people who don't talk." These are clearly just guesses and assumptions. not me trying to argue it as fact.
