he can't own any date, when things return to normal is completely up to states/counties.
:mjlol: wrong

july 4th is two months after everyone in america can get the vaccine. its time to move forward and OWN reopening and take credit for it

or dont :yeshrug: let desantis own it. if the dems are really that p*ssy, i dont even want them to win again

what am i wrong about? do states not own their own reopening trajectory/rules?

and there's no benefit in attaching himself to an open date. you seem so pressed about some official declaration. most states are pretty damn open now, there's no point in "owning" some arbitrary date, this sounds as dumb as Trump trying to own being open by easter. biden is owning the vaccine rollout and availability...that's what counts, it's what gets us back to normal.

and how does desantis own reopening? that dude is in charge of one state....lol @ someone in illinois being like "yay desantis, he's the reason we're open " :what:

desantis kept his state open and is looking at a presidential run

newsom instituted bullshyt ass arbitrary lockdowns for appearances' sake, and is looking at a recall

good indicator of '22 and '24
Hardly, dems love to eat their own alive. Republicans can openly hate and shyt on their voters and they'll vote for em :yeshrug:

Has he been a good governor though? I think this kind of shyt should happen more often. It's not like they're gonna replace him with a republican.

Cali got the highest GDP in the country and an insane amount of homeless people, specifically SF--where he used to be mayor. The entire time he was LT Gov or Governor there's been hellacious fires.

This. I was laughing when Georgia repubs were shytting on Brian Kemp for not backing Trumps voter fraud claims. Talking about they are never voting for him again. Soon as Stacey Abrahams announces her run for the governorship, the repubs will be back in line to support Kemp :mjlol:

Schwarzenegger was a Republican, and he became governor after Davis was recalled in '03. Recall elections are primed for fukkery. If the recall passes, the person with the most votes will be the new gov. When there are scores of people running, and no one has a clear advantage, it's anyone's game. The San Diego mayor is probably the favorite now, but a celebrity could jump in the fray.

see gray davis (D) recall that resulted in ahnold (R), anyone can run and all you need is a plurality, it's the best way to get an R or conservative D in

the fire issue is 3 part, two of which are out of Cali govt's hands - drought and federal lands that haven't been kept up. the third, PG&E, is the only one they can directly affect

Yea I know all about arnold. But, in this climate, I can't see a republican winning in Cali. Granted I don't live there so what do I know.

What do the cali brehs who aren't weirdos think

Assuming the recall is successful, which I doubt, as Davis was polling at 20% approval when the recall happened as opposed to Newsom at 46%, Republicans stand a chance. Better than a general election at least. They are motivated to get Newsom out, a large candidate pool dilutes the vote, and the likely Dem front runner would be Koulinakis, the current Lt. Gov, and she doesn't have much clout.

The ballot asks two questions, whether the incumbent should be removed, and if he was removed, who would replace him. You don't have to answer both. Many people voted for Arnold without even voting for the recall question. Things will be real different this time, because there is no major celebrity in play yet and universal mail in voting is a thing now.

it would have to be the right republican, emphasis on right, but i could see one sneaking a win

there has to be someone who could say "arent you tired of this shyt? im not touching weed, abortion, etc, but taxes are too fukkin high, the lockdowns arent working, the middle class is getting squeezed, and california can be better than this"

id put their chances at low, but not zero :skip:
