It looks like the recall election will likely happen, and 60% of recall elections (100% of gubernatorial recall elections) resulted in the incumbent losing their job. If people vote him out, his replacement will be whoever gets the most votes, and he can't run against himself

where did you get this number from? there have only been two governors recalled in the countrys history

yeah that was gray davis who lost because there was a huge electricity crisis caused by enron creating artificial shortages.

i dont think a sample size of one governor who lost in a very extreme circumstance suggests that newsome is gonna get recalled

The survey, conducted by the independent California-based firm Probolsky Research, found 46 percent of voters and 53 percent of those who say they are likely to vote in a recall election would vote to keep Newsom in office. Forty percent of all voters and 35 percent of likely recall voters would vote to remove him.
