The inconsistent seasons in the series sort of prevents this world from being a planet that revolves around a sun, though some academics have written papers on how it could be consistent with science. George denies all of that though.

Word. From what i gathered from GRRM statements about it, is that the world is normal as far as its orbiting some star but that the seasons are purely magical.

The writers have beat us over the head with "the real fight is against the dead"....the vast majority of the characters you named have no place in that fight. They don't even know that fight exists. I'm not saying write off half the characters but whatever they're doing needs to start connecting to the real war.

Co-sign to the fullest. I actually threw this question out to the group of friends I watch this show with weekly re: who they think will even be left for the battle with the Whitewalkers. Was difficult to guess because you got KL and surrounding areas with no connection yet as they either don't even know about this fight, like mentioned (or refuse to believe it entirely)

I almost get anxiety trying to figure it out myself. So many people/moving parts, GRRM will probably have most wacked before Winter arrives anyway
