Only true scene of targ fire proof-ness is when Dany walked into the fire for the Dragon eggs, but there was probably some weird magic behind that.

It might be a special case with Dany or magic as you said.

I was looking it up and here is what GRRM said.

Khaleesi was never afraid of getting burnt, so that leads me to believe she has always had some kind of immunity to fire/heat...even before the dragons. Remember in season 1 when she walked in hat scorching bath like it was nothing..the servant was like
