No 1 person is the main character.

The entire story is the main character, that's the beauty of it. Well, to me at least :yeshrug:

Hmmm, that's not what Tywin said. Plus, they made it seem like Ned was such a great warrior that he could've had the throne but didn't want it.

That's more to do with Ned having popular support and approval because he was such a just lord. He was also a top notch commander with great leadership who could inspire his men to die for the cause.

Jaime is shown to be a mediocre commander and leader but he's a beast in 1 on 1 combat.

Tywin resents Jaime for joining the Kingsguard behind his back (depriving Tywin of his favoured heir), nor does he really respect that one on one shyt. He's more about chess moves, in which respect Jaime is a bit of a disappointment.

Ned wasnt a main character though and he needed to die..

When you read the first book you think Ned IS the main character of the story...

I remember these nikkas was like "everyone in the book can die"

oh yea please show who, Ned had to die or the whole fukking series wouldnt exist you dweebs. Yet no ones died after him.

...you obviously haven't made it halfway thru the book series.

I was referring to a scene from season one where Tywin lauded Ned as the best warrior in Westeros...naturally, Ned deflected the praise....nothing to do with Jaime.

Did that not happen in the books?

:wtb: Nah fam, Robert was a BEAST of a man in his younger years, caveing peoples chest in with the war-hammer fam, and while Ned wasn't as good as Brandon he was still and above average fighter, but he was prolly a better tactician but that was never touched on. Its not that Ned and them are bad or average...its that Jamie, the Cleganes, Barristan, Garlan Tyrell, Khal Drogo...were THAT good..

I actually wrote "beast" originally, but on 2nd thought, I'm not sure. Young Barristan, Arthur Dayne, maybe Gerold Hightower could all see Robert, and there are probably more I'm forgetting. As for Ned, I think there was a grrm quite where he explained that Ned was nothing special as a fighter.
