This season is getting a lot of bad heat. I've always wondered what they were gonna do when they caught up to the unfinished books. With anime, they continue on and it's almost never as good as the actual direction the story was headed but they can go back and do the true version but that's not happening here. Things feel rushed, the political maneuvering seems absent. Hopefully, George R.R Martin finishes his story so someone can tell me how the story really ends.

They had material they could use from books 4+5 that could've contributed to a coherent plot leading into this final season, just skipped it/altered it for trash plots like Sansa marrying Ramsay and Jamie going to Dorne :mjlol:.

Since season 5 the cracks been showing, but at the very least they got the big set piece episodes like Hardhome, Hold the Door, BOTB, Cersei blowing up the church right which let them keep their crown and have people forget about all the bad parts. Now they not even doing those episodes/plots right and getting eaten alive.

i dont always watch behind the series, but when we saw lights out on 30k dothraki, and D&D told me that's basically the end of the dothraki, then dontraki leader breh only wipes half his men off the map in the last episode...what in all fukk :martin:

nope, we got full reign on the company laptops and no VPN needs for our department (we have communal laptops in you need to VPN to corporate systems)
Opera browser has a vpn feature now

I'm with everyone that says that Season 7 should've been 10 episodes. You do that and figure a smarter way to convince Dany to go North - basically replace that retarded "let's go get a functional wight" mission - and separate Jamie from Cercei and it's a much more solid foundation for the final season as everything has more time to develop and even with a more frantic pace, you can build shyt up without feeling so plot driven. This finale should've been at least 8 episodes too.

And as much shyt as D&D are getting, deservedly so, we can't just forget they were also behind stuff like Hardhome, BOTB and Winds of Winter. Episodes that almost entirely deviated from the books, and needed their hand to be as amazing as they were. Hell, episode 2 from this season was fukking awesome and it also had the frantic pace they've given the last 2 seasons.

It's not that D&D CAN'T make this finale work, it's just that they lost any desire to put the necessary work to give it and ending that would be much more than just spectacle and cheap swerves. And that is a shame.

I also think people tend to go a little too overboard over a show that might not be GOAT level, but it's still a fukking awesome TV series. So I get that people still enjoy the fukk out of it and get annoyed at all the current bytching. Which again, it's warranted, but I see both sides of it, the show still gets spectacle like no other and that's enough for some. That's fine too :manny:

Showrunners told us the Dothraki were wiped out in the after the episode and then during the next episode we find out less than half were gone :heh:

Supposedly half of the Unsullied were alive too but like 200 were with Dany during the failed negotiation with Cercei :dead:

To me, Episode 3 had enough good shyt to look past the "wrap this shyt up ASAP" writing.

Episode 4 was just too damn much, as it didn't have the stakes nor the sense of dread/tension as Ep. 3 so all we were left was D&D's "can we just finish this shyt already?" storytelling :francis:

How dope would it have been if cersei got bodied in like the first 30 min on episode 1 like thanos in endgame by arya or something? People would of been like :ohhh::dwillhuh::mindblown: and had the long night/big war to look forward to for the rest of the season

That’s how they did Joffrey.

When you rewatch the show on a binge watch you see how fast it is.

Robb dies in Season 3 Episode 9 and Joffrey dies 3 episodes later in Season 4 Episode 2. They got his ass outta there early in the season :camby:

And the problem ain't the seasons being too short now. The problem is the seasons are so short because the show runners Weiss and Benioff want off the show. HBO offered them anything they want....offered them enough money to even wrap it up with big budget movies....more seasons, more episodes....and they said "nah, we're straight". :snoop:

So the only way this show would be fixed is:

1. GRR Martin finished all the books and they worked from that.
2. The show runners still gave a fukk about the show.
3. The show runners were replaced, and the show was given 1-2 more seasons to wrap things up. Or at the very least seasons 7-8 had the normal amount of eps.

That's it.

Fred.

Season 8
- go as far North as the show can go (I vaguely remember the show writers saying they were going to do this and it was only in flashes) and showing a lot more of the white walkers
- more Children of the Forest scenes
- maybe a few flashbacks to the First Men to set up the new series and to flesh out the Night King
- the Night King going south
- Jon actually fighting the NK + other people fighting the white walker generals
- Maybe I don’t know have Bran fukking have more flashbacks of important things that happened in the North like when they had Bran and the old 3ER going back in time
- have Jon kill the Night King

Then Season 9 focus on the Iron Throne

Have Cersei die early on in the season then have the Dance of Dragons Part 2 between Dany and Jon be the driving force of the story. Fleshing it out for an entire season could really allow everything to come into play such as Dany having time to get support for her campaign like she does in the books but they couldn’t do that because they butchered the Dorne storyline :pacspit:
