Nah, most people just want a happy ending because they have so much invested in certain characters. If show was as popular and social media as invested in it during first season people would've flipped over Ned's killing. Girl playing Sansa would've had to get off social media permanently, writers called sexist for portrayal of Cat and so on.

Now of course there's legitimate issues with this season, the worst one being that season is so short that it doesn't allow proper character transformations. But all this crying about writing when we're coming off of season 7 which was basically a soap opera.

"Oh no Mad King's daughter went mad :bryan: nobody warned us of this, have they no decency :damn:"
This!
Anybody who complains doesn't understand this story. GoT taught you in the very first season:
a) don't get too invested into these characters, they might fukk up and/or die at any moment
b) there are no heros in this story, only people fighting for their interests and people trying to survive
c) nobody is adequately equipt to rule. Those who have good intentions aren't ruthless enough and those who are ruthless enough want to rule to satisfy their own vanity.

There was never going to be a happy end, only disaster caused by a bunch of narcissistic noble families :yeshrug:

Seeing a bunch of similar clips since Sunday, IDK why it's not understood Daenerys was trying her hand at Westeros politics last season.

This scene came after the loot train massacre.

Only reason she even attacked the loot train was because Tyrion and especially Jon talked her out of making a b-line to Kings Landing after Euron destroyed her fleet, their Casterly Rock plans flopped and Highgarden was overrun. She was ready to push Cersei's wig back and accept any casualties.

Both of them betrayed her trust in s8e4, in addition to everything else she lost, thus fire and brimstone s8e5 with no fukks given.

It's another example of her juggling between malevolence and benevolence depending on current levels of desperation. Was it rushed? Sure, but the points are there. I mean, she was ready to go scorched-Earth in Mereen five episodes prior. :manny:

:mjlol: @ tryna lump season 7 in with the good season. The writing was just as bad last season as it is this season.

The writing faltered after they passed the books, but it fell off a cliff with season 7. And these "inside the episode" interviews have convinced me that D&D completely checked out of this series.

Just because the heel turn been expected DOESNT MEAN WE HAVE TO BE OK WITH THE WAY IT WAS DONE...

If you want to see a heel turn built up properly see Walter White and Breaking Bad...

Now imagine if Walter went from teacher to full blown homicidal Narco boss in 7 episodes...That's essentially what D&D with Dany and you have cats in here caping for that nonsense...

At least you admit they fukked it up, the stans cant even bring themselves to say it could have been done better...smh
The thing is Breaking Bad is essentially about Walter White. It follows him primarily and everyone else is just supporting characters for his story. They could have never devoted that much time to Dany’s turn since there are so many characters and stories on the show.

But they should have definitely built it up over a full season or two instead of two episodes. The fact that she burned a city after the soldiers surrendered two episodes after she helped save humanity by using her dragons against the army of the dead is just silly.

I hadn't posted because I need to digest the bullshyt.

So forget everything.

And someone answer this.

What is the point of Dany in this story?

For six seasons she was doing her own thing in Essos. Westeros had its own thing going on the entire time; she had no influence on the events in Westeros during that time. Season 7 rolls around, and her only real accomplishment was to give the Night King the means to cross the wall.

Current Season. Her Dothraki were useless. Dragons useless. Night King killed by Arya. And remember the Night King as far as the show is concerned was only in the North because Dany's presence gave him the means. Other than that, there was never any mention of how the NK planned to cross the wall that the show DID establish Bran the Builder built using magic specifically to keep them from crossing (although Bran the Builder also used those same spells in the crypts of Winterfell... but I guess the genius writers forgot that).

Now they've turned her into a genocidal maniac because... reasons?

Can anyone tell me what the point of all this was? This isn't subversion. It's poor story-telling. Subversion or no, the audience is due a payoff. And I think the sane among us realize we won't be getting that.

:snoop:

He left his mark on Bran. Wherever Bran was NK could go no magic could hold him back after that
