A lot of people complaining haven’t read any of the books or anything about the characters. Dany locked her former best friend in a damn vault in Season 2 breh. In a vault!!! To starve to death. She watched while her only brother had 375 degree melted gold poured on his forehead breh and said he was no dragon afterward :mjlit: She burned the fukk out that witch too back in the day. It’s always been there in Dany. Her experiences since then pushed her over the edge. But she was always borderline crazy. Have y’all been watching or not?

NONE of these were “Mad” decisions made against innocent people. Her brother put a fukking KNIFE to her throat and threatened to kill her. Her “friend” betrayed her and set her up to be killed. The Witch betrayed her and caused her husband to become a vegetable and her child to be miscarried.

Every death Dany caused up to THIS episode had a specific reason for being necessary. Even Varys. Her decision making surrounding who and who not to kill was 100% justified and arguable (and when it wasn’t she always ALLOWED to council speak reason to her)

So suddenly deciding to RAVAGE an entire city, the very city she proclaimed her destiny to rule...

I dunno. She just burned a whole fukking city. The fukking capital of Westeros. :yeaok:
she was always going to do it

wish it was done better but its just off course, messy, etc.... not gonna beat that dead horse. cersei crying about her baby - or even acting like she gave a fukk about the city or soldiers at all - was a fukking joke

From what I gather, D&D didnt even have the decency to tell Emilia Clarke about her heel turn even though THEY knew about it back in season 1. Imagine putting your character out there as a feminist icon for almost a decade, then going through the season 8 script to find out she's turned into a genocidal maniac. Emilia was right to worry about season 8 leaving a last flavor of what Dany is in people's mouths: I will NEVER unsee that iconic shot of her on top of that dragon, covered in ash, looking like a frenzied lunatic.
It's the same expression I remember Alfie Allen did for Theon Greyjoy when he beheaded Ser Roderick.

You choosing to ignore obvious crazy breh.

Cersei tried to kill Tyrion like fifteen times. Yet Tyrion would not kill her or allow anyone to hurt Cersei. That’s still his sister. So put that into perspective as Dany watched her brother burned alive :usure:

Picture Jon locking people in vaults to starve to death or burning people alive. I can’t.

None of the people Aegon burned had surrendered. That is a defining aspect of his conquest. He readily absorbed people into his kingdom that surrendered. Gave them titles, let them keep their lands and culture, and he even adapted some of their culture.

When Aegon burned Harrenhall, the vast majority of the lords and commoners under Harren's rule had turned against Harren and defected to Aegon. Partially because of Aegon's "mercy", which he even extended to Harren himself before they ran to their castle.

Dany is the only Targ that killed hundreds of thousands of innocent people. Not even Maegor The Cruel accomplished that feat.
You say this but it's been shown that maesters "revise" history.

The reason people surrendered to aegon was because he had overwhelming power and was gentle in those that surrendered. The feared him and knew they could keep their lives if they surrendered. After he burned a army of 40,000 men alive and killed some kings was when people really sat up like "we shouldn't fight this guy." Cersie and Sansa don't have anything resembling that level of fear of Dany. They trying her at every turn. Which is the same reason maegor was so correct in his cruelty. His dad died and everybody started bucking at the targaryens. So he proceeded to send a message. Maegor and his mother burned down various castles in the reach and westerlands for ignoring royal summons.

The only difference is Dany has switched off from being accommodating and upped the scale of destruction. It's time to let folks know who has the power.

They respected aegon.
The feared maegor.
To rule Dany must establish fear because no one loves her in westeros. They don't admire or respect her. This is how you establish that fear. She can worry about the respect after she has the compliance through fear.

Was Tyrion crazy when he choked out Shae and shot an arrow into his father as he sat on the shytter?
