Point taken away, yes. I was always against RJJ getting DQ'd. Take a point or two let the guy recover. Neither was done maliciously IMO.

Other than that people's opinion tend to be double standards. He fights "Mexican style" and people criticize his boxing skills. He uses boxing skills to completely neutralize Lemieux's only chance of winning and he gets criticized. Haters gonna hate.

@Newzz had a point with the Broner fight. Broner did what he needed to do to beat Molina. People wanted more engaging, which only would have benefited Molina.

And people are going overboard with the Mayweather-Berto comparisons. It completely ignores the real situation. Action fighters tend to be more interesting to casuals than classic boxers. Just how it is. When fights get made between two action fighters it is always hyped more than a boxing lesson. We have to remember that most of us here as hardcore fans are different than the general public, we appreciate the nuances. I love watching Floyd, Rigo, or Ward show off their skills. But the casuals will always prefer Rios-Alvarado.

GGG is just that guy who people love to hate right now. People upset it was PPV...but it is about gauging GGG's star power to see if they can do PPV fights in the future. It wasn't about the fight being a true PPV event.
People criticize his opponents, yet there isn't a single match at 160 he hasn't made that was available.
They say he can't beat Ward...well now with Floyd retired, Ward is my #1 PFP fighter. I have always said I would favor Ward. So the #1 PFP fighter who is a whole weight class above is the guy who people think will take down GGG...okay...that is just saying how good GGG is when that is their calling card.
Add in that GGG beats down his opponents or proves he can box them and gets criticized, yet we have other fighters that can't do either as well, but somehow get viewed as more skilled.

People are going overboard with the comparisons but was Floyd Berto advertised as Hagler/Hearns? :jbhmm: Two non ppv worthy fights yet the media/stans only honest about the Floyd fight. Did these nikkas not shyt on Floyd and Manny to an extent with the whole build up to this shyt? and then dude goes out there boxing real cautious :dame:

Maybe I saw a different fight from my #SOGGang executive suite :dame:

I bet if Fat Dan made that comparison though you'd agree with it :skip: do you nikkas share a brain :dame:

True he should of not gotten the DQ for that fight even though Montell was doing the Oscar job. Riddikk Bowe did the same to Buster Mathis but they called it a no contest. The same thing should of happen with Jones vs Griffin since both fights took place in Atlantic City, New Jersey

It's always a double standard

he talking about actions fighters lmao, like berto wasn't an action fighter himself

the truth is anybody can look like an "action fighter" when you are fighting inferior competition

people always bring up hagler hearns as some kind of barometer for what a good fight is suppose to be, how did that turn out for hearns though

Dan is known to hype action fights far more. He never seems to give boxers their full due. I don't like that. I consider myself a fan of all styles (except Porter or Devon :lolbron:) and like watching an overall variety.

Overall I think the media push wasn't just about the fights themselves as well as the fighters. I wouldn't doubt a lot of writers are tired of Floyd. He talks like he will be exciting or go for a KO, but you always get a 12 round easy decision. Add in that the casuals never seem to appreciate what Mayweather does. They probably feel bored of it always being the same.

GGG is something different. I don't doubt that writers get more excited to cover GGG because his fights are full of exciting action and the casuals are on board with his style. Makes the media's job easier. Add in that GGG and his team are easy to deal with and Floyd is notoriously difficult.

That is just one persons opinion here. I don't worry about it much because I just love seeing GGG get that media push and now the casuals are jumping on board getting us even more coverage.
#GGGoodBoys is a great club to be a part of. :blessed:

I need to holler at the coli insiders though I'm starting to think Haymon doesn't really fukk with the old guard in regards promotion. I literally have zero hook ups for pbc fights :francis:

you know i did bring up that pbc card in your backyard, the one you had NO interest in...that card ended up airing PBC's first legit FOTY..funny how patscorpio knows these things

You already know nikkas pick and chose man.....when I said Floyd/Berto wasnt ppv worthy its :salute:tho

So because I didn't want to go to that card that means I don't want to get the #SOGGang executive suite treatment for pbc fights I do want to go to :dame: I get concert stuff from Barclay's but never no boxing I'm starting to think it's Haymon not fukking with the same dudes hbo fukk with. All of the events ive been hooked up w have been hbo events.

Funny how Patscorpio thought this fight would be a barn burner yet it was more like a certain pbc fight you shytted on.....no bias tho :dame:

Do I stan pbc or do I give credit where due? :jbhmm:

They are not perfect but for the most part they have done a VERY good job. Damn near every single one of my favorite fights this year have been pbc fights and I have a feeling Diaz/PED will be there too.

Way better than both hbo and showtime yet you have zero criticism for hbo and their lack of content this year pbc is the problem. Paying a subscription for little content and ppv for a struggle 17-1 odd main event is cool but Haymon giving us quality fights for free 3-4x a week is where the problem is :francis:

You literally wanted to see Jacobs/Kid Choc fail I thought it was all about finding out who the best middleweight was :dame:

No bias tho :dame:
