Dom gets told that he needs to fly into a random central American country to retrieve Mr Nobody or whatever he was carrying, and decides all he needs is a white tee fresh out the pack, and one of the fine Dodge Family of Products.
When the faceless goons pull up on them, absolutely none of them bother to even duck, flinch, or react to gunfire in any reasonable manner (including the Letty, who decided rolling through the rainforest on a motorcycle was the move). The only one who comes close is Roman, who proceeds to body something like 10 goons who have him circled, WITH high ground.
The make a point of Tej explaining that they need to be moving at about 80 MPH to escape the blast radius of the land mines, reinforce it with goons blowing up and Roman's ride getting blown up.......just for Roman to escape said blast radius on foot via combat roll.
Dom tells everybody to abandon him to leave via the one access shaft to the hideout, attempts to go heads up with 20 goons, goes 50/50 with them, proceeds to tear down the stairs structure bare handed, proceeds to go on a vision quest, and then wakes up saved by the squad BACK IN THE SAME HIDEOUT.
At this point, I'm assuming the euro dude's father has to be a key element of one of the next two. In a series that doesn't bother to explain plot all that much, they really went out of their way to hammer home that his father was someone very powerful.
I'd also say they're probably bringing Gisele back at some point. They copied and pasted enough of her and Han's storyline from Six onto Letty and Dom, even down to using her last words repeatedly, for it to stick.
The storyline contorting they've had to do to fit Hab into all the other movies after Tokyo Drift, and then bring him back make Tokyo Drift look NASTY. Homie was really out here teaching some high school kid how to drift in his free time while putting in work for Nobody, and hiding a child like he was Korean Drake.
