Disagree. Tokyo drift solidified Dom as a main character.

He doesn't carry himself like one. at least not for this series. Vin doesn't give Dom the emotional range to be this patriarch. he barely has a relationship with anyone other than Letty, Brian, and Mia. Even when Han came back I felt some distance and that's supposed to be his man. Then I looked at their relationship in Fast 4 and I realized its not on Dom; its on Vin and how he plays Dom now

They doesn't mean he's not a leader, he just who he is. I don’t think it’s on Vin, I think that’s how they write him. He’s written as a unstoppable badass, all the other shyt got thrown out the window. They all look to him for the answers though, even Brian.

I agree with the Han thing though. I thought he was mad Han lied at first.

Vin is a producer. he has extreme authorial voice over this franchise. if he wanted to play Dom differently, all he has to do is snap his fingers. So I put that squarely on Vin's shoulders.

A website that basically misses a lot more than they hit. They traffic in rumors because they know the internet is the perfect place for them and they're routinely debunked for their shoddy journalism, made up sources, and just being plain wrong.

Yes! Lol. He’s not the character vin wants him to be or thinks he is. It was never Doms movie. Ever. And he doesn’t even play Dom the same way he played him even in fast 4

remove Dom and the franchise would also massively suffer. They are like the Beatles. Like Batman and Robin. Like Fenris. Like Aurora+Northstar. Like Mags+Prof X,. Like Chuck D and Flava Flav. Like Dre and Snoop. Like Tom and Jerry. Like #catset and #dogset :picard:.

Saw this yesterday, and was astounded at the pure levels of fukkery.

Dom gets told that he needs to fly into a random central American country to retrieve Mr Nobody or whatever he was carrying, and decides all he needs is a white tee fresh out the pack, and one of the fine Dodge Family of Products. :dead:

When the faceless goons pull up on them, absolutely none of them bother to even duck, flinch, or react to gunfire in any reasonable manner (including the Letty, who decided rolling through the rainforest on a motorcycle was the move). The only one who comes close is Roman, who proceeds to body something like 10 goons who have him circled, WITH high ground. :dead:

The make a point of Tej explaining that they need to be moving at about 80 MPH to escape the blast radius of the land mines, reinforce it with goons blowing up and Roman's ride getting blown up.......just for Roman to escape said blast radius on foot via combat roll. :mjlol:

Dom tells everybody to abandon him to leave via the one access shaft to the hideout, attempts to go heads up with 20 goons, goes 50/50 with them, proceeds to tear down the stairs structure bare handed, proceeds to go on a vision quest, and then wakes up saved by the squad BACK IN THE SAME HIDEOUT. :russ:

At this point, I'm assuming the euro dude's father has to be a key element of one of the next two. In a series that doesn't bother to explain plot all that much, they really went out of their way to hammer home that his father was someone very powerful.

I'd also say they're probably bringing Gisele back at some point. They copied and pasted enough of her and Han's storyline from Six onto Letty and Dom, even down to using her last words repeatedly, for it to stick.

The storyline contorting they've had to do to fit Hab into all the other movies after Tokyo Drift, and then bring him back make Tokyo Drift look NASTY. Homie was really out here teaching some high school kid how to drift in his free time while putting in work for Nobody, and hiding a child like he was Korean Drake. :picard:

Yeah, at this point Vin Diesel is actively the weakest part of the franchise. His acting has been reduced to figuring out if he's wearing a white tee or a white thermal, switching from Dom Toretto Scowl and Dom Toretto Smirk, and his action scenes are really starting to stick out with how they seem to be covering for how limited he might be physically now, too. It wouldn't stick out so much if the plots of the last two weren't so heavily centered on Dom.
