Watched this in 4DX so I enjoyed much more than I would if watched it in 2D. Just a typical post 2011 Fast and Furious film.
Is Charlize Theron meant to be their Thanos or something? Is she gonna get the Infinity Gauntlet or something? Fast saga usually don't keep villains for this long.

Admittedly I still need to watch most of the series. I did enjoy this one more than 8 tho. For some reason I didn’t care for the possessed heel Dom angle.
Hell I enjoyed the movie period. It was entertaining, and yes, if you have a 4DX theater you can get to, please spend the extra dough and watch it there. It enhances the whole experience.
…but due to some fukkery on our end, we missed a good chunk of the beginning. Could someone tell me, based off where I walked in, just how much I actually missed (like in minutes)?! You can spoiler it if need be:
We walked in right as the scene was ending where Dom and Letty were in the whip and using a big ass cord or some shyt, followed by that “invincible” convo with the brehs"]

Man if they did a lot of wide angles and action scenes with “Brian” don’t see why bringing him back into the mix for the fukkery….but god damn the hole his death left in these movies is gaping
The story aspect isn’t the same he really was a calming presence just sad still after all these years
It’s better than 8 by a long shot but to quote the cat above me, they really really miss paul walker. Which is what I said after part 8. Dom just isn’t the emotional anchor vin diesel wants him to be. Not at all. And as long as the last two movies are focused on Dom as the main guy, the movies will always feel less than.
There are several moments here where you can feel produced vin diesel. If you’ve seen the movie you know what I’m talking about and the movie suffers because of his ego but also because Dom needs Brian. The fast movies started with Brian as the main character. And in part 4 when everyone came back he was still the main character. Five and six were more ensemble flicks while 7 shifted back to being more about Brian with the ensemble still in tact, striking that perfect balance. Now it’s all Dom all the time.
Justin Lin is still the guy and just knows how to direct these movies and what they need. But Dom just isn’t the Danny ocean he thinks he is. Brian was.
