Johnny was wilding “how about a nice 40w”... did dude drink it, it’s been a while.

50 was too much so Johnny made him drink the 40. It was race wars and they had no engines. He was justified. Bring back Johnny and Lance. Make them part of the team.

the 7th movie was good. But fate of the furious was terrible. Almost walked out. This series lacks actors people with charisma. There is only so much action u gotta have some personality to go with the action. Ludacris tyrese and vin diesel are trash to say the least

Just read Rocky’s interview in rolling stone. All signs point to him never being in a mainline fast and furious movie again as long as vin is there

Dwayne Johnson: The Pain and the Passion That Fuel the Rock

It soon became clear Johnson was referring to co-star Vin Diesel. When the film came out, eagle-eyed viewers noticed the pair's scenes were shot in such a way that they might not have been on set at the same time. "That is correct," confirms Johnson. "We were not in any scenes together."

"Dwayne will give you a lot of latitude," Beau Flynn says. "You can push and push and push. But there's a line in the sand with him – close to his toes, probably – and if you cross that, that's one of the rare times he gets upset."

Johnson says their beef came down to a disagreement about professionalism. "Vin and I had a few discussions, including an important face-to-face in my trailer," he says. "And what I came to realize is that we have a fundamental difference in philosophies on how we approach moviemaking and collaborating. It took me some time, but I'm grateful for that clarity. Whether we work together again or not."

Does that mean he might not be back for the ninth installment? "I'm not quite sure," he says. "Right now I'm concentrating on making the spinoff as good as it can be" – Hobbs and Shaw, co-starring Jason Statham, due next year. "But I wish him all the best, and I harbor no ill will there, just because of the clarity we have." He considers this, then lets out a big, sly laugh. "Actually, you can erase that last part about 'no ill will.' We'll just keep it with the clarity."

Vin must've really pushed some buttons.

Yeah. It’s a very vague statement “fundamentally different philosophies about filmmaking and collaboration” yet specific enough to know they reached a fork in the road. Now I get why Tyreese was so in his feelings because he knew Rock wasn’t coming back for fast 10 or 11 or however many.

There definitely seemed to be tension during the movie and the camaraderie wasn’t there but I chalked that up more to Paul not being around anymore. That movie really missed him

Fast & Furious 9 isn't coming our way until 2020, but Vin Diesel is teasing that fans should expect something even bigger than what we've seen from the franchise previously. That, by Fast and Furious standards, is a very tall order, especially considering how insane things got in Furious 7 and The Fate of the Furious. Not only is Diesel promising that the next movie in the franchise is going to be bigger, but he also teases that they may be going to Africa for the first time in the upcoming sequel.

Vin Diesel, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris and Jordana Brewster, who will make her return in Fast and Furious 9, recently were on hand to promote the opening of a new Fast and Furious ride at Universal Studios Orlando. During their visit, Today caught up with them and asked if Diesel could dish any details on the next installment. While he couldn't give away too much, he did give us a little snippet as to where Dom and the gang may be heading. Here's what he had to say about it.

"It does get bigger. I just got off the phone with Justin Lin, who is directing Fast 9 and Fast 10, and I can't tell you how excited he is....We haven't been to Africa, I can tell you that. And we are long overdue."
Justin Lin directed Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift up through Fast and Furious 6. During that run, the franchise turned into what we know it as now and become monstrously successful. So having him back at the helm for the next two movies seems like a great thing, at least from Universal Pictures' standpoint. We first reported that Lin would be returning to helm the next two movies in October of last year.

Originally, Fast 9 was slated to arrive in 2019. However, Dwayne Johnson cooked up a spin-off with Jason Statham's character titled Hobbs that will arrive next year, which is to be directed by John Wick and Deadpool 2's David Leitch. That spin-off, as well as some of what went on during the filming of The Fate of the Furious, led to beef between The Rock and Vin Diesel, as well as Tyrese Gibson. For now at least, it appears as though the beef has been squashed, but it's still not a guaranteed that Johnson will return for Fast and Furious 9.

The Fast and Furious movies have exploded in terms of global popularity with the more recent entries. Both Furious 7 and The Fate of the Furious grossed more than $1 billion worldwide, with Furious 7 eclipsing $1.5 billion. In total, the movies have made $5.1 billion, making it one of the most successful franchises ever. As such, we're getting at least two more installments, with Fast and Furious 9 locked in for an April 20, 2020 release date. You can check out the interview clip with Vin Diesel, courtesy of the Today YouTube channel, for yourself below.
