Wasn’t really fukking with that ending but I see what they were trying to do. I like how they left everything open ended. shyt is a marathon not a sprint and then you can definitely tell nobody was sure if they’d get a second season so they were like “fukk it lets some do some artsy shyt for the ending” :MJSnicker:

All these people scared of Nate’s gay ass :mjlol: that Tyler dude is a bytch, and Discount Mac Miller threatening him at the gas station knowing it was a possibility he’d drop the dime on him. All these people falling for Jules tranny ass too :stopitslime: Didn’t think this would get a second season but it’s a good show.

Nope, I dug it too. First off, the Donny Hathaway scene was :blessed::whew:

Then the Labrinth/Zendaya ending was rad, revisiting that song in a new way was a great finish to the season.

I loved how the light first lifts Rue from her bed like she's about to float into the afterlife, but she gets her feet under her and stumbles through the house instead. Zendaya played that shi perfectly.

She's clearly somewhere in between life and death in that scene, and after her father kisses her head (and looks at her like, good to see you, but too soon), she falls into the arms of the chorus, hand over her heart, throwing her up and down like they're reviving her.

I don't think she's dead cuz at the end, she climbs the pile of people ascending toward the light once more... and then falls off... like she's back to earth.
A little artsy and over the top, sure. But this show hasn't been pretending to be anything else the whole season :manny:

I guess I’m the only one that loved the ending?

I thought it was beautifully done and reimagines the euphoric feeling of a high when it’s been three months since your last hit. Her playing with life and death with her mother, sister, and father.

Her family is the reason she came back, she wants to be better, but not for herself but for them, as she narrated in the first episode.

I think it showed her stumbling out of the house and into the street, where she had convulsions and / or was being revived by someone (when the choir is moving her up and down). If you listen closely, you can also hear crickets during the credits, so I think she's on the street somewhere knocked out. Strung out and possibly trying to get back to the train station.

My guess at least :manny:

I made it through three episodes, then realized Jules was a transgender. Not just in the show but I’m real life. It bothered me and I stopped watching it. Up until then I liked the show. Is it worth it to continue? I like most of the characters in the story, but I find that transgender angle a little bothersome. If y’all say it’s worth it to continue I will.

Show gay asf. Half of it is about the tranny and who falls in love with her.
