Then the Labrinth/Zendaya ending was rad, revisiting that song in a new way was a great finish to the season.
I loved how the light first lifts Rue from her bed like she's about to float into the afterlife, but she gets her feet under her and stumbles through the house instead. Zendaya played that shi perfectly.
She's clearly somewhere in between life and death in that scene, and after her father kisses her head (and looks at her like,
good to see you, but too soon), she falls into the arms of the chorus, hand over her heart, throwing her up and down like they're reviving her.
I don't think she's dead cuz at the end, she climbs the pile of people ascending toward the light once more... and then falls off... like she's back to earth.
A little artsy and over the top, sure. But this show hasn't been pretending to be anything else the whole season
