I got turned off by reading about human sand worm hybrids. Sounded like it went a little left. But if it makes sense in the flow of things, why not give it a try

Jamis was a douchebag in the first Dune book. Paul also kills him and takes his wife as a servant if I remember correctly. Would rather this not be the only black male role in the movie.

He's not. Thufir is played by this amazing actor

I don't think Jamis was as you described. In the movie his portrayal will I hope be well rounded and the actor who accepted the role is great
