Charlie was a good actor and GREAT storyteller but this is no disrespect to him when I say that he didn’t possess the inherent Charisma that Eddie has that helped make his turn as Rudy so memorable and anchored the film.

Yeah, he's a great storyteller that for sure.
I think Wesley deserves a nomination too :yeshrug:

Yeah, Eddie for the best leading actor nomination and Wesley for the best supporting actor nomination.

I want Wesley Snipes a biggest come back and he deserves that :mjcry:

Didn't take long :francis:

To be fair...Eddie could have put him in Harlem Nights :manny:

I did see the vid of Eddie saying he reached out about 15 years ago saying he wanted to do a movie about his life, but Rudy wanted a mill just for the script to be written :russ:

Eddie also said how Rudy wanted them to go on shows together. :mjcry:

So yea I believe it.

Eddie put Red Foxx, Richard Pryor and Robin Harris in Harlem Nights. Can't ask him for more than that. Who else put more legends in position when they was on top?
Chris Tucker didn't do it, Kevin Hart didn't do it, Chris Rock didn't do it.

When Eddie was on top he put on legends and put new guys like Martin and Chris Rock in positions to blow up.

I'm not disagreeing with those facts :hubie:

However, as it turns out what Rudy did in the 70s was just as big.

If Eddie is putting all these legends in Harlem Nights I could see why Rudy would feel some type of way.:manny:

Harlem Nights let all the youngsters know who was considered the greats and made you want to go back to research them. I didn't know about Rudy until years later. Being in that film or any Eddie film would have been huge for him as far informing the next generation. Only Martin was the one to put him on as far including him in a show.

Its as the guy in the video says....for years he wanted to work with Eddie and wouldn't when he was down and out. The irony is that when Eddie was down and out he used Rudy for a major comeback.

I'm just saying both things can be true. :manny:
I can understand his fam and if Rudy were alive/him feeling some type of way of how that went down.

If you download Tubi (its free) you can get some other Rudy films.

Petey Wheatstraw is probably his best film imo. Saw it last night and it was dope

Eddie couldn't put everyone on. He played his part. The reason John Witherspoon got popping amongst the youth was because Eddie put him in Boomerang. Eddie did more for comedians than anyone else I can think of. Look at all the dudes he put in Life.

That comedy hype channel got it out for Eddie:russ:....:hhh:

After this cat talked about Mooney he said this about Eddie.

These guys could be right, we don't know everything, but the timing :hubie:

Another thing I will say its when talk about white Hollywood vs black hollywood when it g=comes to gate keeping or putting people back on/introducing new people.
Hollywood itself is geared to do just that versus how it is the 'responsibility' of thew few blacks in Hollywood who make it. The guy in the Rudy Ray moore video says black people treat each other poorly and brought up Spielberg, Lucas and some other guys. You can name white gate keeps in Hollywood for days. Black gatekeepers are limited-Spike and Eddie were basically it and they certainly reached back and brought old stars back up and helped new ones get on. But how many can a limited number of people help compared to Hollywood as a whole

just my two cents
