How does it connect to the larger MCU?I've never cared much for the character and never read a Dr. Strange comic. Do recommend it?

Watched this last night, I am not big into marvel/DC films really...this was ok considering I went in not knowing fukk all about Dr Strange....Some funny parts in it, but a little messy at times. Cumberbatch plays the part well I think. Seemed like a typical comic book movie to be honest.

Went a bit overboard with the dumb jokes but that's Marvel so not a surprise.

"Adele....Bono....Drake....Eminem... Beyonce" might be the worst comic book movie attempt at being funny I've ever seen.

Rest was dope though, one of the better origin flicks in the MCU.

I do have some Q's though............. in the comics, how powerful is Strange supposed to be?

also, how do the comics describe his magic, like, where it comes from?

you gotta remember, Strange here is just starting off. It took a LOT of years to get to where he was a walking plot device.

Recently, he's (and damn near every magic user in MU) been SEVERELY nerfed. At one point, he was damn near god level.

I don't know if you remember that cheesy Fantastic Four cartoon (I think it was) where Galactus showed up and the heroes shyt themselves? Then Ghost Rider showed up out of nowhere and beat Galactus, then left?

In the comics, that was Doctor Strange.

I saw this and fell asleep midway through. That's not to say the movie sucked - I watched it while I was tired.

Just got in from seeing it. I thought it was good. All of the jokes fell flat for me but visually, this is an experience. If I could take 3D, I would have definitely watched it in IMAX because this shyt was trippy

The story was your standard Marvel origin movie but it serves its purpose.

Shout out to the couple in front of me that didn't even watch the film. They spent the whole two hours eating each other's faces
