We get a lot of violence in PG13 movies these days so I thought they could get away with it.
I think it depends on the script they have. If it's insane violence like Kingsmen level of violence, along with cursing, it's going to be R

Personally it doesn't really matter Deadpool in the comics for the most part is PG-13 but to go R I guess the main reason is the fans want no restrictions and now that Kingsmen made at Fox and rated R has made a lot of money during the same release date Deadpool will have it gives them more leverage to do so.

Proof ?? Most of the material Deadpool is known for like runs of Joe Kelly, Gail Simone, Daniel Way is considered PG-13. Now I'm against a rated R version but it ISN'T necessary for the movie to be an accurate adaptation.
Let's do a history lesson here: Predator or Aliens vs. predator, which was PG-13
Terminator 1 and 2 or Terminator Salvation, PG-13
The point here is that if the subject matter is R rated, to make it PG-13 takes away why we love it; Deadpool is so much fun because he is violent with a nasty mouth; PG-13 would remove that instantly and if you don't understand this idea, then you lost. Wish for a movie to fail without seeing it because of hurt feelings, brehs.
