Always thought that Undertaker/Kanyon Boy George thing was a piece of trash. There was absolutely no point to it. I remember feeling that way in real time and it’s no different now. There wasn’t really any follow up or anything, it felt like something non-canon happening.

Had no idea the Young Bucks and Brian Cage had anything to do with Kanyon, but that showed how long they’ve been around the business even at their age.

Knew Cage was pretty close with Kanyon but had no idea the Bucks even crossed paths with him.

threw me off when Jericho said

"it's very rare that you get someone in wrestling that nobody ever talks bad about --- Chris is one of those guys"

:gucci:

that statement means something because you only hear it about guys like Brodie, Owen. half this episode was people talking bad about Chris Kanyon.

I'm glad he had people who cared about him enough to see past his struggles, but that statement was overboard.

People coming at Cena for his comments after the fact have to look at the optics at the time

It’s easy to judge after watching an entire documentary about his personal life, but at the time Kanyon seemed out of it. If you were around on the dirt sheets at the time, you’d remember…

Kanyon was going around saying WWE fired him for being gay (even tho WWE employed openly gay wrestlers at the time, AND Kanyon admitted to people close to him that he was just using it as a reason to sue) and he was doing wild publicity stunts like showing up front row at house shows and causing scenes. He was on a weird downward spiral and doing Enzo Amore type antics online.

Cena saying “bro, you just weren’t good enough” was a push back against Kanyon’s behavior. Homie was unstable..

Sucks that he was having identity issues and shyt, but how were nikkas supposed to know all that?

weird people going after cena and not vince . two episodes this season and vince has been complicit in sexual harrasment on a plane and harrasment that probably drove kanyon to commit suicide

ironically flair called in on another episode to tell kanyon he was trash

wild shyt man

kanyon was dope to me as far as workrate, but nothing special. He definitely innovated a couple moves, but nothing separated him from a guy like Nova (Simon Dean) or Mike Awesome when it came to workrate

He definitely had charisma. I was a fan.. but let’s be real, he wasn’t blowing anyone away to the point where you’d put him above the other guys on those stacked ass rosters.. so people acting like Kanyon was some next level revolutionary wrestler that WWE fukked over is 1000% overreacting emotionally and in the moment

I do think the Boy George thing was a rib though. Wasn’t the first or the last. They trash for that

I dunno it really did seemed like because Kanyon and Mitchell were so close, that he put all of his frustration and angst from other parts of his life onto him. He needed another outlet other than wrestling to expend that shyt instead of taking it out on another human being.

I bet he was a great guy to strangers and his friends, but he had his manic episodes, and with Mitchell he crossed the line during them.

not even surprised at flair sucking that wwe dikk since they pretty much made what he did on the plane ride from hell go away
