I've seen it man. I know he deserves all the praise. I've seen a handful of his matches. His match with Styles was just as good imo. It was just funny how hard Mauro and Bryan were going.

In what way do you think njpw was holding them back? Not giving the push they deserved?
Sorry if I ended up being Captain Obvious, then :russ:

NJPW made Naka and Ibushi take a backseat to Okada and Tana, and it was criminal to have Kota lose so much in the G1.

Fale beat Tana, but Ibushi had a much better case to get a W. And it would have been a better match for Destruction. Having him lose to Makabe just lowered his stock further.

He was getting fukked by booking, when everyone knew he had put the pieces together to be a star last year.

Haha its all good. I don't follow new Japan too heavy, but I was especially checking for Styles and Ibushi for a while. Now that you mention it. Yeah they should have pushed Ibushi more. Too late now lol

You quoted me yet you didn't answer my question:ufdup:

You can't get those Nakamura bears anywhere. Limited run, sold out and not coming back because NJPW don't carry any Nakamura merch now obviously. They were expensive as fukk when available too. Like $80 for an import.

If you happen to find one on an auction site, expect to pay inflated reseller prices :francis:

I don't agree with this at all. First off, Nak got his super push way earlier than Okada and Tanahashi. 3 time IWGP champ, they basically gave him his own division with the IC title and said and treated it as on the level of the IWGP title and he held that 5 times, unified the IGF and NJ versions of the titles, held the tag titles, U-30, absorbed the NWF title, won the G1, won the NJ Cup, won the G1 tag league, headlined a million shows....dude got literally everything you could possibly get in NJPW. He held every title you could hold, won every tournament you can win, headlined the biggest shows. It didn't matter how much time Tanahashi/Okada got. Nak was treated as almost above them at times, but certainly on the same level.

They fukked with Ibushi, though. Although, who knows what would have happened last year had he not been injured. He won the NJ Cup, got a title shot, beat AJ during the G1. Who knows where he would have been on WK this year had he been healthy. He was never, ever going to get a true top of the card push until he signed on full time with NJ, though.

Gran Metallik looked great. An adult human-sized Kallisto with a much cooler mask. Sign him.

Alejandro Saez surprised me. Based on his WOAT look, I thought he'd be a jaybrone. Dude has some skills. Get on a cycle and come back next year, kid.

Ariya Daivari with the natural heel tendencies and a great look. Seemed skilled in-ring too. Sign him.

Ho-Ho Lun.... Ehhh... He seemed nervous and out of his depth.

Clement Petoit was good (if somewhat generic). Based well for Cedric, didn't try to do too much. I can see him getting recruited to NXT.

Cedric Alexander looked fantastic. Sign him.

Sean Maluta was way better than expected. Sign him up and put him with the Usos, those guys need something to rejuvenate their act anyway.

Ibushi is obviously the star of this whole thing. I'd say sign him but I think that's already done.

Called the 4 winners with ease. Hoho was the only one you would think would maybe have jobbed but when you realise they got Cena out chea slapping fluent mandarin at press conferences, you just knew he was at least getting one W.

Liked the look to the show and the real sport feel to it. Matches weren't really all that though, but that'll get better in the next round I'd imagine since you can pretty much guess how they'll look.

Good card. Loved the presentation. Ho Ho Lun needs some more seasoning:patrice:

Everyone else looked good with Ibushi/Alexander/Dorada/Saez being the standouts

Yeah presentation is top, top notch. Straight up like the early days of UFC of clash of styles and countries, mixed with the PRIDE flair...but for fukking WWE. So wacky. So neat. That's going to keep the show interesting when some of the matches aren't so hot.
i wish they would put more emphasis on characters though. in one match i saw this guy playing it up like a huge heel one minute after we saw that he was a good genuine guy in the pre-match vignette.

it plays like the behind the scenes of a reality TV show instead of an actual wrestling show where they pretend it's a work.

There aren't a lot of actual characters outside of WWE, though, especially not for juniors who the default characters are either "cocky heel flyer" or "smiling white meat flyer".
