maybe its just me, but ive always seen the MEAC as the basketball conference and the SWAC as being synonymous with football.

from what I’ve been seeing online it’s a combination of factors..he’s from the east coast & they offered him more years than Southern sound like the main reasons though.

but tbh HBCU coaches leave successful HBCUs for another HBCU with less prestige all the time. A lot of coaches at this level remain with HBCUs their entire career either from them not getting a shot at the bigger schools, or they’re simply comfortable at HBCUs and they support the mission of them.
