I will definitely listen to your podcast, thank you!

Supposedly I'm in zone 7b, first frost around November 1. The property is ours, but we're not moving in until Oct 1. We go every weekend tho, so i might try to get some greens started this Friday. But bc we're only there on the weekends for now, I'm learning how to build self watering containers.

Should i buy plants or stay some seeds? We do know the lady at the local community garden, maybe she'll hook me up with some plants already acclimated.

I already picked out the compost bin i want. It spins. :krs:

Good point about growing our own bread, i just got a bread maker.

So sorry about your purple kale. :to: I'm working on animal proofing too, cuz I'll be dammed if i do all that work and some disrespectful ass animals eat my shyt. :demonic:
Stop by the local fancy grocery and they will have more seasonally appropriate starts like kale and collards. You can then go inside that same store and find all sorts of seeds generally at a discount because it is the end of the season. Start like thyme or oregano because they can withstand your reg windowsill amount light

@repciprocity Should be worried about white mold? The ground is pretty wet. I feel like this is part of the process and I should let it cook. At the same time, I wanna kill it with fire. :scusthov:

Good thing I didn't start planting. :whew:

Take a pic if you can. You may be able to starve it from moisture with woodchips and have fungi that associate more with woodchips take over and eradicate that white mold. You can buy like oyster mushroom and shiitake mushroom inoculant online and have that take over your soils and provide you with free food and combat other more dangerous fungi

I don't think so, prob just popped up taking advantage of some temporary circumstances, the colder weather and the rain that we've been having from this storm down south are Affecting Things.

thanks, planning on building a greenhouse next spring, expanding my use of grow bags too, am using about a dozen now will probably add half a dozen more, have had huge success with peppers in those. will probably add another steel 4x2 bed (like the purple one) in my pic

one thing I need to work on is increasing my yields
