BREAUGH THIS SHOW WAS SUPPOSED
TO BE BASED IN THE 80S AND THEY COMPLETELY CANNED IT
SO YOU MIGHT AS WELL NOT USE
ANYTHING YOU SAW IN THE OG POWER
AS A REFERENCE TO THIS SHOW.

It was always based in the 90s since the get-go... the only '80s scene was when Kanan was a little kid in that very 1st scene on season 1, episode 1. The teenager scenes start in '91.

that episode made me sleep. it's maybe the worst of all the power universe all included. I mean power ain't known for great script writing and act play but at least theres some excitement and fukkery. with this series we get none of that. What was the point to take kanan to the woods ? The Marvin and his old slut storyline + the psychologist is useless and boring as f. We don't give a flying fruck about lou and his p diddy dreams. they are supposed to be drug dealers but they are doing everything except deal

:mjtf:

I really tried to give this a chance but I'm greatly disappointed. I was hoping since it's a series about kanan and it took place in 90's ny it would be extra violent and we would slowly see kanan (and laverne) transformation by now, but they are still damn pretty lambs. And it's already the middle of season 2. I'm not even talking about the two detectives and don't get me started on the knock off sopranos.
I loved watching OG power because while I shat on it every week I was entertained. I'm only keep waching this to see the connexion with the OG power and I like to finish what I started, it's like the mcu trap where they almost force you to watch everything regardless of the quality

I keep thinking the same thing about jukebox. Like what happen to make her turn into a cold hearted killer. Like I know when you young you gotta get "trained" when you first get in the streets but some fukked up shyt had to happen from kanan to become a factor in the streets
Personally I can see it with Jukebox. Juke been cold since season 1.

How much older is Kanan than Ghost & Tommy? Would they be in high school yet, or are we a season or two from them meeting Kanan?
Courtney said 6 years , but who knows. OG power Ghost was born in '74. Tasha was turning 30 in 2012. Tariq had his 18th Birthday in 2021, Kanan is born in '75 in this series

The showrunner said Kanan is 15-16 currently and the way it’s written for this show, ghost and Tommy are about 6 years younger. It didn’t sound like he had intentions on bringing them into the series anytime soon.

Probably around season 4 or 5 is when they'll come around

ARE YOU SLOW?

KANAN WAS A TEEN IN THE 80S
NOT THE 90S...

THE SHOW WAS ORIGINALLY
SUPPOSED TO BE BASED AND
THE 80S AND THE SHOW RUNNERS
SWITCHED EVERYTHING UP
AND GAVE ZERO fukkS ABOUT
POWER'S CONTINUITY.

looking at current Kanan it's hard to believe he ever became a factor in the streets. Something wild gotta happen and set him off

HE SAID BREEZE TAUGHT HIM
EVERYTHING HE KNEW ABOUT
THE STREETS AS IF HIS MOTHER
AND UNCLES DIDNT EXIST.

THIS SHOW COMPLETELY SAID
fukk ANYTHING THAT HAPPENED
IN THE OG POWER.

I LOOK AT IT AS AN ALTERNATE
UNIVERSE NOW AND WOULDNT BE
SURPRISED IF THEY WENT THAT ROUTE OFFICIALLY.
