Good news for Black Panther today as advance ticket sales are matchingCaptain America: Civil War, a strong sign that the Marvel Studios movie could end up breaking box office records next month.

Black Panther hasn't hit tracking yet but the signs are already pointing to Marvel Studios' latest movie being a mega hit. Tickets went on sale on Monday night and it's already beating Captain America: Civil War as Fandango's best-selling Marvel Cinematic Universe movie during the first 24 hours of presales.
As Deadline points out, there's never a direct correlation between great advance ticket sales and a movie's opening weekend but the trade is confident that with it opening during the four day President's Day holiday weekend, Black Panther stands a chance of becoming the highest opening February movie of all-time. That means it would beat Deadpool ($132.4 million) and Fifty Shades of Grey ($85.1 million). It would have to continue selling as well as Civil War for that to happen, though.
Fandango recently surveyed over 8000 moviegoers and Black Pantheremerged as one of 2018's most highly anticipated releases, second only to Avengers: Infinity War. So, regardless of whether or not it breaks records next month, the movie will more than likely end up being a commercial smash.
Are you excited for Black Panther? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts in the usual place.
