All of you defending the shuri shyt ask yourself which other lead had their characteristics given to a supporting character.

In this case it doesn't bother me. When it comes down to it I would much rather BP be portrayed as a tactical mastermind than a brilliant inventor. The problem with Marvel(and some people in general) is that they think intelligence is limited to science and tech, when it's more encompassing than that.

They found stuff for Rhodey to do without taking Tony's traits, falcon got stuff to do without taking Cap's traits etc
breh they are intentionally acting dense like you couldn't give Shuri something to do and show her genius/ intellect by having her create and run the kimoyo bead communication system

have her have a mind for architecture and seeing a building she designed be finished in one of the black panther sequels

she could be into designing new wakandan aircraft and or other vehicle that Okoye or T'Challa think could be a great asset to wakanda if they where fitted with weapons

it's plenty of cool/useful shyt Shuri can do without stepping on T'Challa toes by creating his suits/tech/gadgets he use's

So you would prefer Shuri be running around behind T'Challa dressed in her own version of the Black Panther suit? Be playing sidekick in all his action scenes?

That would be way more obnoxious than this "tech girl" niche they've put her in.

Ya'll were campaigning for them to include Shuri in the MCU (all the Lupita fancasting) but you don't seem to understand that if they include a character they have to give that character something to do.

They said he's Marvel's version of James Bond. They basically made Shuri his "Q"
Just because Q provided Bond with gadgets doesn't mean Bond wasn't smart.

Exactly. Plus Marvel has a history of women.....just there. Its good that they are making sure every woman in this movie are 3 dimensional, has agency and a purpose.

And you would still have folks saying that T'Challa should've been the one making those things instead of Shuri.

Honestly, this development is far from a big deal. T'Challa is still:

-The lead
-The Black Panther
-The King of Wakanda
-Master martial artist
-Enhanced human being
-Very well-versed in politics
-The face of the BP franchise, without question.

Meanwhile, Shuri is a technophile who can fight.

As other's mentioned, there's nothing that indicates that T'Challa isn't a brilliant scientific mind himself. The difference is that in this version he delegated the task of designing tech to Shuri.

T'Challa has an entire country to run. Delegating is something heads of state do every single time.

Given what they've said about the film.......when the fukk would T'Challa of had TIME to make a new suit?

Seriously, they said it takes place immediately following Civil War. So T'Challa has all sort of political shyt to tackle in addition to hunting down Klaw. Shuri making him a new suit is her way of making sure her brother is safe and doesn't suffer the same fate as their father.
