'Black Panther' Poster Drops Ahead of First Teaser Trailer
The footage airs during Friday's NBA finals.
The king has arrived.
Marvel Studios has released the first poster for Black Panther, and announced the first teaser trailer for the film will premiere during Friday's NBA finals. The game begins at 6 p.m. PT on ABC.
Black Panther stars Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa, the king of Wakanda and hero known as Black Panther.
The film, from director Ryan Coogler, takes place after the events of Captain America: Civil War, which introduced Boseman's T'Challa. The new king faces off against Michael B. Jordan's villain Killmonger. Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o (Nakia) and The Walking Dead's Danai Gurira (Okoye) are also among the sprawling cast, as well as Andy Serkis, who reprises his role from Avengers: Age of Ultron as bad guy Ulysses Klaue.
In April, Heat Vision saw an early look at the film during a visit to Marvel Studios, where co-president Louis D'Esposito showed off dailies from shooting. Among the scenes were T'Challa's coronation ceremony, as well as a casino battle featuring Serkis. (Read all the details here.)

i'm just baffled by most of Marvel's posters. They should hire the best poster artists in the world. they have decades and decades of art to be inspired by... and they consistently drop the ball. Posters aren't shyt in the grand scheme, but come on, that poster sucks.

And if the background is looking like that on a poster then damn that better not be the visuals they're showing off in the trailer.
