Black Panther Filming Locations!

Introduction

On February 16th, 2018, Black Panther will arrive in theaters. It'll mark about 3 & 1/2 years since Marvel made the announcement back in the fall of 2014. Thankfully, we have already been introduced to the character via his incredible debut in this years Captain America: Civil War. Chadwick Boseman's portrayal of T'challa/Black Panther in the film is legendary and the hype for his solo film has gone through the roof.

What do we know?

Very little is currently known about the film. Boseman will, of course, be returning to reprise the role of the title character. It's reported that Lupita Nyong'o will be joining the cast in an unknown role. However, the report does indicate that she will be playing T'challa's love interest. The next day, THR also revealed that Michael B. Jordan would be joining the film as the villain. Speculation has placed Andy Serkis in the film, reprising his role from Avengers: Age of Ultron, but that is unconfirmed. That's all we know about the cast so far but I bet that will change in the upcoming months. So where will it film?

Filming

Back in April, Kevin Feige, top boss at Marvel Studios, spoke with Collider and revealed that Black Panther would begin filming in early 2017. Marvel producer, Nate Moore, revealed that there was interest in trying to shoot some of the film in Africa. So far, nothing has been announced by Marvel but I just recently learned of four locations Marvel is planning to film Black Panther: Atlanta, Chicago, Singapore and South Africa.

Atlanta is the most obvious on the list. Marvel Studios has developed an excellent relationship with Pinewood Studios in Atlanta. They settled into a grove that's basically year round in Atlanta. The stage work will handled there like in so many other films of their's.

To my knowledge, this would be the first time Marvel Studios has filmed in Chicago. Chicago has a great downtown and interesting architecture. Could this serve as a way adding some realistic downtown shots for parts of Wakanda?

Singapore is a fascinating location. It, even more so than Chicago, may provide filming opportunities with beautiful views and stunning architecture. This would also ensure they don't visually "Americanize" Wakanda. Whatever the intent, Singapore is a exciting addition.

Lastly, the crew will spend some time in South Africa. Could this be related to Ulysses Klaue? Or simply, maybe some filming in Africa but outside of Wakanda? All we have is speculation right now but as for the locations, this is what we have: Atlanta, Chicago, Singapore and South Africa.

That's all for now! Stay tuned though!

Read Ultimates today. Not much T'Challa action but for those of us who wanted BP and Spectrum to hook up

Blue Marvel got there first :mjcry:

BP had a chance to be with her first, but he was mad about her killing Killmonger, told her off something serious too.
