It's crazy how BP was able to make it to top 10 worldwide.

The 10 movies below it, all did way more sales internationally. Some by a wide margin.

What BP did is truly an anomaly. Probably will never be duplicated again by another movie.

On another note, I don't think Avatar's international record will ever be broken Not even Infinity War. It might come close though.

Even my mother went to see Avatar. It had crazy word of mouth, people wanted to check that 3D.

It's because the CGI was revolutionary. And that movie kick started the 3D movie trend that still goes on to this day. Avatar came out at the right time and took advantage of multiple holiday weekends. It was a slow burner. That international record though is insane.

It's not impossible. If you look at the weekly trends, it will probably do 4 million Monday - Sunday 2 mil the next week and 1 mil the next. 4th week and it will pass it. It's still doing numbers so it's still showing a over 2,000 theatres. Not to mention this is only Week 9. The last star wars was in theaters for 18 weeks. Civil War 20. BP will pass Star Wars. It's only a matter of time.

Oh, and this is the First Marvel movie that was successful enough to last this long to meet up with another Marvel movie. Don't be surprised if BP makes more than expected this weekend. People might go see both.
