Same as last month, jobs report looks good on surface but bad underneath.

That’s a PR win for Trump though. :ehh:

Ain’t much of one and it will be short lived by his own down and when all the money they pumped into the relief effort dries up.

More Voters Rule Out Trump Than Biden | Monmouth University Polling Institute

A key difference from four years ago is that fewer voters have a negative opinion of the Democratic nominee. Biden’s rating stands at 44% favorable and 44% unfavorable. It was 42%–49% in early June. Hillary Clinton’s rating in July 2016 was 34% favorable and 52% unfavorable. Trump currently has a negative 38% favorable and 55% unfavorable opinion. It was 38%–57% in early June. As a candidate four years ago, he held a 31% favorable and 53% unfavorable rating.

2016 was about Hilary having a fatally damaged brand across the electorate :manny: People dont hate Joe and the dementia mashup ads wont change that :manny:

I know you are saying this but those numbers mean nothing to people. At this point everyone either has lost income or likely knows someone who has. Throwing those numbers around don’t make anyone feel better. Maybe some people get a sense of relief but it doesn’t instill confidence. Combine that with the uptick in cases and these numbers couldn’t be more hollow for the percentage of the electorate that is going to decide this election.

Funny thing about his job growth numbers is that they're mostly the numbers of people who went back to work at their original jobs when the pandemic started. Its crazy with them letting him announce this like there is a real increase in job growth.

And the Republicans will be like "look at those numbers, no need for another stimulus check or UI extension."

:unimpressed:

Those unemployment numbers are from June 12. Since states are going back into shutdown mode, it will go back up when they get that July report.
