Read what I said. The Dems offered no support and the GOPs fed them the culture wars. And if you haven't noticed, a lot of black people are eating up the culture war bullshyt too.

You said "he Democrats offered nothing financially to improve those peoples lives". I don't think there is anything democrats could offer financially to these people to get their votes.

Something worked for nearly 50 years where we were taught it was impossible for Dems to lose the House in school.

Racism, etc. was still around.

I don't believe in economic insecurity to excuse racism, but I do believe that people would be happier if they weren't broke. Both can be true and we need to stop looking at these societal issues in single silohs. I don't believe the culture wars take shape if people aren't broke and losing their homes.

You give these redneck cacs too much credit.

The main reason these states voted Democratic is backlash from the Civil War and the reason they vote Republican today is backlash against Civil Rights struggle.

These people are driven in large part by their hatred and resentment of black and other people. If really is that simple.
