Yep.

In 1992 & 1996: West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana all went blue.

It's crazy. Now all of those states are solidly red/Republican.

Yep. I assume it's because Perot may have helped Clinton, plus there were still a lot of socially conservative but pro labor Dem voters at the time.

Less polarized time + Bill being a southern boy = his victories in those states.

Also, the Silent Generation was still influential as a voting bloc in the '90s. White Silent Generation members have a greater affinity for the Democratic Party than white Baby Boomers because the Silent Gen. grew up under FDR & Truman.

I wouldn't go as far as to say Bill Clinton was socially conservative, but he wasn't socially liberal enough to turn off all those redneck voters at the time.
I would guess that non-religious rednecks voted Clinton, while religious rednecks and wealthier rednecks voted Dole

ive been calling republicans' offices all week and arguing with/laughing at their staffers, or leaving voicemails. but i had one interesting exchange with john kennedys office; they said he'll "absolutely" accept the electoral college when it certifies

i think the orange fakkit runs into a massive wall on monday. these coward republicans had their out about "he has the right to file lawsuits", but on monday thats over. they literally have to choose between america's institutions or trump. no excuses, no half assing it

and he wont get a single senator. definitely plenty of congressmen, but the senate has too much prestige for them to go along with this bullshyt

It's not crazy at all. The Democrats offered nothing financially to improve those peoples lives, while the GOP offered a culture war.
