That chart is super misleading. In GA black turnout was up 20%. But since Asian turnout doubled, and Hispanic turnout was up 76%, our voting “share” dropped. If black turnout truly dipped then Biden would have lost in a landslide.

Wasn't really sure about previous hispanic and asian turnout in GA, it still is pretty drastic according to that chart unless both of those groups were just non factors until now, that does make sense.

I sympathize with progressives but they suck with messaging its annoying. If AOC was running in a swing district in Florida or Michigan she would get crushed. Hell if she ran in a swing district in upstate she would get crushed. The idea to is promote your ideal in a way that benefits the working class but not naming it socialism. Same shyt with police reform. Stop saying defund the police. Instead say end qualified immunity, have independents oversight committees for police, have police unions pay the cost in police brutality cases not tax payers, demilitarize the police, etc. Just the branding is what sucks. It comes from the same belief that they rather sound right rather deal with the messaging.
You all overrate messaging and policies imo. Your average voter doesn’t vote based on policy. They vote if they like the personality of the candidate more than anything

Glad that black voting is up, cause that gives Tariq zero credibility in the nonsense "stop voting" stance, only pushed towards black folks.

And the fact a lot of people look at a racist, childish clown like trump and say yes this is who I want to represent me on a global stage is just :mjlol:

not sure if y'all have read the "The Fifth Risk" by Michael Lewis but it is an excellent book on the importance of the various federal agencies and why and who is President to staff them matters (also learned a ton about what they did than what I previously knew)

Yeah, you both are exactly right but that just re-enforces my point.

Many people have a strong emotional reaction to even hearing the word "socialism". Trump screams at the top of his lungs that the Democrats are socialists and then you have some Democrats identify as such and they are considered to be "rising stars" in the Democratic Party, that's going to turn off a lot of people.

Most people don't care about what "socialism" actually is. Socialism has a negative connotation of being "bad/evil" to many voters, anger and fear is a huge motivator. We saw that motivation on both sides of the aisle this year.

Socialism to white conservatives means, "white tax dollars going to black people". They don't have a problem with social programs, as long as it's the "deserving" aka whites, getting them.

Yep, also to Cubans, socialism = Castro. To the Vietnamese that left Vietnam, socialism = North Vietnam/Ho Chi Minh. To Venezuelans, socialism = Chavez/Maduro.

It's very hard to convince people to not view socialism in that way.
