Why are Bernie folks chirping? Was it Florida that put the battery in their back?

I'm legit confused b/c it's looking like Biden is going to flip the entire "Blue Wall" while also flipping AZ and GA and will ultimately win by 5M+ votes. How is this bad and in what world would Bernie have done better?

I agree with Kristol, this election required a very unique candidate. Let's thank the black elders in South Carolina for saving us from annihilation.

This is true. I voted Bernie in the SC primaries but my parents and other older folks in my family hit us younger folks with the

And cast they’re votes for Biden:russ::salute:

I think @dora_da_destroyer brought up catering to the liberal elites the other day

it has to be acknowledged that through decades of public education and affirmative action policies the dem base has gotten a lot smarter

People that identify with Dems are no longer larger the people working in the textile factory they work for tech companies , governments and colleges in big cities all across the country

I get that but it doesn’t mean you can’t have the white working class as well especially since you have their interests much moreso then republicans at least financially

republicans only reached them recently culturally because of Trump

Exactly. These parties have always changed demographics over time. It was only natural.

In many ways the longer this goes on the better for Democrats...obviously if Biden wins.

That's because Trump will continue to try to degrade and erode faith in democracy and institutions and increase conspiracy thinking. This will in turn create more violent dissension in the short term against Democrats...I think you know where I am going with this. :demonic:Trumpism has to be seen as extremely evil otherwise we will keep struggling with it.

Man I'm like the liberal Karl Rove...I need to stop.

The Dems have become more socially liberal and the GOP has become more fiscally liberal, that's why it has been such a challenge trying to recapture those working class white votes.

Just look at the shift in the Midwest from 2012 to 2016, Trump's national populism caused a big shift. Do any Dem politicians even campaign on protectionism anymore?
Republicans haven’t become more fiscally liberal, trumps nativism sounded good re “bringing jobs back” but absolutely nothing fiscally liberal has come from his administration.

and the Dems had to become more socially liberal as republicans became more socially conservative and started putting social values into the platform back in the 80’s. That ran a lot of less religious, pro life, LGBT people to the dem party which of course meant the Dems then had to start advocating for more liberal social causes.

other than civil rights, which literally focus on allowing people to live equally in this country, Dems should run on an economic platform and do a better in messaging job creation that comes from moving to green energy (as well as the made in America/American dependent angle of green energy and green manufacturing - no more offshoring or foreign oil needed)

And Bernie would have helped with that? :mjlol:

Damn near every Republican statehouse ad down here in Texas tried to tie the Dem candidate to Bernie/AOC, NOT Biden.

I spoke with Latino voters who said they were either not voting or voting for Trump because Biden is a socialist. They've been hammering Latinos with this socialist messaging for at least 8 months on Latino radio. This issue would have been compounded if Bernie was the nominee.

Them Bernie bros. guys are just playing obtuse at this point, breh.
