We went up in every demographic bedsides white males. I'm saying. There are reasons people are voting for Trump that aren't one-sentence answers. I know we live in a Twitter world right now but these are not things that can be explained in a Tweet. I know Trump is a disgusting man but there are people that are still viewing him as a better alternative, and we need to find out why. It's very important. We can do this while still acknowledging that yes, all the racists and Kens and Karens voted for Trump. But we need to figure out why more people are voting for him if we want to stop this kind of populism going forward.
I know it's cool to say "it's just cacs being cacs" or "latinos voted racist" but that's not what the data shows. Trump has mismanaged this pandemic AND has had really low approval ratings, and he still got more votes from essentially every demographic of people in this country. It's imperative we take time in the next year or so to try to figure out why that is.
It's because they don't view him as "a politician"
Politicians, because of the constantly changing nature of reality, MUST occasionally adjust their positions. It's no different than fighting, right? If you stand still and throw technique you MIGHT win but you'll probably be in much better shape if you adjust and move as the fight goes on. Situations change. shyt happens.
He's doing exactly what "politicians" do, ie. changing their positions as necessary due to the change in certain situations or variables, but he's just talking to them in ways that they can relate.
And George Bush already proved that they want someone they can "have a beer with"
Low key Obama was the same way...he was cool and personable and wasn't as tainted by the stain of being a politician yet so people rallied behind him. He didn't come off as an "Angry Black Man" which we all know White America is deathly afraid of.
