Republicans are masters at manipulating people into thinking they're for the average person while fukking them over for corporations. It's astounding

Well that has changed with the "new right", as there are guys like Josh Hawley who favor protectionism, reduction of legal immigration (such as H1B visas), and general anti-corporate rhetoric (regarding big tech in particular). And they're also anti-war which means the Dems can't campaign on that position like they did in the 00s.

They may be hypocrites but they took a sharp turn from the old Reagan stuff in rhetoric. This has probably helped them to do well in the Midwest.

Uncertain grounds
Should biden win but repubs keep senate then hes gonna have to get creative with EOs and some cajoling on Capitol hill.

There may be depressed turnout in 2022 and/or energized gop if there is too much gridlock

im starting to get worried about dems in the house

republicans are winning all the tossup seats

Maybe the Dem success in 2018 was artificially high due to no Trump on the ballot. I have to imagine Trump is considerably more popular than the GOP itself. Though even milquetoast Republicans that the hard right does not care for (like Lindsay Graham) won tonight.
