it's always insane how fukking close margins are in Florida, nobody has crossed more than what 51% in any type of statewide race be it for the president, governor or dog catcher in a long while (Bush got 52% in 2004 and Crist won fairly comfortable in their 2006 gubernatorial election) but every race is within less than a point it seems

I'm still surprised they didn't market that at all.
The autopsy of his campaign and reign of terror as a whole will be once in a generation worthy. He had so many chances to dupe a population begging for reasons to vote for him again and blew it due to his own hubris.

my biggest concern with florida is that republicans won two statewide races there in 2018. they were close, but they still got it in so im worried about how the state is trending

meanwhile dems won statewide or big house races in pennsylvania, michigan, wisco, arizona, even iowa in 2018 so i feel more confident going into those states.
Seniors weren't getting fukked up in 2018 though. :picard:

Ok guys - this is for the statisticians.

When was the last time a high turnout favoured Republicans?

As I keep saying, if Trump is suddenly Ronald Reagan, then that's on America, but none of the trends speak to that.

He won by razor thin margins in the states that won him the electoral college, but we have allowed Trump's bluster to make us paranoid.

He said he won 2016 by a landslide. He didn't.

He said he won the popular vote but for voter fraud. He didn't.

He said there were records crowds at his inauguration. They weren't.

He said he has been the best President since Lincoln. Not even close.

We can go on.

Set your own narrative based on the facts and trends and work with it and stop projecting fear.

Beyond America being even more racist that ever thought, which is certainly a possibility, explain to me how a president who barely won in 2016, and who has hardly ever broken 40% in terms of popularity, explain to me how he is going to come through in an election where the turnout looks to be record breaking.

Without cheating.

Rick Scott narrowly won the gubernatorial elections in 2010 & 2014 despite Obama winning Florida in 2008 & 2012. Florida is gonna Florida :yeshrug:

The last presidential election that was a blow out in Florida was 1988 when Bush 41 beat Dukakis by 22% (mostly because of Reagan's coattails). Every presidential election in FL since has been decided by single digits and usually less than 3% (except for Bush 43 winning by 5% in '04).

those were midterms under a democratic president so its expected republicans will make gains. my worry is that the reverse should have happened in 2018 and didnt
